Steemit Engagement Challenge S8-W3 | Elections in my Country

As a citizen of India, my thoughts about election in my country is mixed. On one side, our country is based on democracy system where we can select our leader to the power that was appreciating. We citizens have opportunity that right to vote and chose our representatives. On other side election leads to some challenges like voter fraud and corruption. In our country election is full of intense political activities like bribing officials, spending black money and humiliate opposite parties etc.

The election system in our country is a largest democracy process with more than 800 million voters were eligible. During the election, some of them critize the system for giving importance to political parties and people than national issues. Corruption and money influence is widely applied in our election system illegally. The election commission of India has several actions to uptake the accountability and transparency of election in recent elections. They introduced electronic voting machines with possible High security to vote.

In India, election are organised at three levels which are National, state and local, these elections were in the control of election commission of India. They were responsible for fair elections. When election system announced the date of election, political parties register themselves in election commission as candidate, the election campaign period starts. During campaign period political parties and candidates start campaign for votes. On the election day the eligible people who are willing to vote can go to respective voting booth and vote as their wish with proper identity card. The winner is selected based on the count of votes for them.

In India election are under the surveillance of Election commission of India ECI, they took various steps to ensure that elections are organised in a fair and transparent. That ECI has took measures like electronic voting machines which is tamper proof for the vote accuracy. If the malpractice occurs ECI has their instances like violence in election, vote buying and selling, intimidation and bribing officials. During election the voting booth were secured at its peak. Still election commission of India ahs working for the complete fair and transparency of election.

My solution will investing in latest technology for the election, Technology has the capability of change and security, it can improve the efficiency and accuracy of the voting system. It includes electronic voting machines or even Blockchain Technology voting systems, which is tamper proof to cast and count the election votes. Increasing the public interest and awareness about election. By educating the people about importance of voting will result in the fair and transparent manner of election.
