Once upon a time-- Obedient, wisdom and intelligent

in Steem Africa4 years ago

When I was younger, I stayed with my parents in the village. Sometimes in the evenings when we are through with our daily activities, my mum sit with me and tell me some interesting stories. She will always start with once upon a time and I would respond time, time.
On that day, we went to the farm and we came back very early because we were able to finish our house activities.

Then she called me and said I have a story to tell you and I want you to join me in the balcony.
The title of the story is wise children make the best news of their destiny. It struck my mind and I became very interested to listen to her more.
The story was about a family in our street, not very far from our quarters. She said that Mr Okechuku had a family of seven. He, wife and 5 children among the children are 3 boys and 2 girls.

Then it wasn’t so easy to train children up to the university. But Mr Okechuku being a wise man, trained all his children at least up to secondary school, because he was a great farmer while his wife was a petty trader who sells foodstuff and other house items that she could afford.
Among his children is the second son named Ifechukwude. The meaning of the name is that God has written. He was very humble and so intelligent among other of his siblings.

After his secondary school education, he had prayed that God will provide for his parent to exceed his secondary education.
One day, his father’s cousin that resides In Benin city visited and along with their discussion, he made a proposal of sponsoring one of his sons to the university level and will wish to travel back to Benin with him.

They all choose Ifechukwude to go with him. Because of his obedient and wise behaviour, his uncle loved him so much and was very happy to have him among his children. He registered for his university entrance exams which he wrote and passed excellently.

Ifechukwude then studied accountancy at the University of Benin and came out with an outstanding result which is first-class honour’s. Immediately he finished his NYSC (National service). He was given an appointment in the First bank. Because of his intelligence and hard work within a short time he was posted to another branch to head as the branch manager.

Though Ifechukwude has 2 younger ones Afam and Ngozi who was trained to the university level and that changed the story of his family. Ifechukwude later built a house for his parents in the village and also for himself in Benin city.
Moral lesson. It is good for one to be obedient, wise and intelligent. This has also encouraged me as a child to be the best in everything that I do
