Steemit Engagement Challenge: A meeting between Steemians - How I met @whitestallion and beetees

Introduction

My meeting with @whitestallion was made possible through his uncle @focusnow. I know focusnow first before him and when focusnow told me that he's whitestallion's I was surprised.

Back in 2020 when I met focusnow, whitestallion whose real name is Nelson, has not entered the university where we finally met.

He either had finished secondary school waiting for admission into the university or was still in the secondary school to finish in a few months.

I don't really know but what I know is that, the next year, 2021, he had gotten admission and was now studying in the same university as I was.

His college was directly opposite mine, while he was studying Mechanical Engineering in his college, I was studying Banking and Finance in my college.

How I met @whitestallion

Studying in a big school like mine means that the probability of meeting a random person twice in a week is very low.

You cannot possibly know everyone in the university, even my course mates, I don't know all of them apart from a few that are my friends and vice versa.

In the hostel, the feeling is the same. I don't know everyone that stays in the same hostel with me and not all of them knows me as well.

On a faithful weekend, I called @whitestallion. I got his number from his uncle and we have been chatting since then.

It was through our chats that he told me that he got admission to study in the same school that I was and that he was running around doing one or two things as a fresher.

I didn't want to disturb him during the week so I waited till weekend to call him. I called him, he was happy to see my call and I told him where to meet me.

I was at my college rounding up with my assignments when I called him to come there and see me. This is the first time I'm ever going to see him.

We have not even had a video chat, just voice calls and picture sharing. But I have already video chatted with his uncle a few times.

I was happy that he honoured my invitation to come see me at my college and I couldn't invite him to my hostel because male folks aren't allowed in the girls hostel and vice versa.

He came bearing gifts (snacks) that we both ate and chatted a little. I didn't want to let him go just like that without capturing the moment. Here are some of the pictures I took with him.

Whitestallion is such a jolly good fellow, he's always smiling and laughing. I don't think I've ever seen him get angry or even shout at anyone.

Us seeing didn't end there, rather it was the beginning of a solid friendship bond that has lasted for a long time now.

He's the first steemian that I first met on steemit blockchain before meeting in real life. Other Steemians that I know was because I first met them in real life and introduced them to steemit.

They are worth mentioning though but for this contest, I wrote about whitestallion first because I had met him on the blockchain before real life.

How I met @beetees

Beetees whose real name is Uche Blessing Chibuzo was my coursemate back then in the university. She wrote all about our relationship in this post

She has been a wonderful friend and coursemate. We stayed in the same hostel but different rooms and we got along throughout our stay in school.

I introduced her to steemit once we were done with school and under two weeks she completed all her achievement posts.

If I don't know anything about her, I know for sure that she is very commited in anything she does. She improves on herself and her abilities. She works tirelessly to blend into the world, no matter how cruel the society tends to be.

Conclusion

I still want to meet other Steemians in the future and I hope someday, it's going to be a reality. I hope when that time comes, they too will be excited to see me.
