Return To New Mo'

This was a watercolor piece I did when trying to illustrate a scene from a role-playing world of mine a few months back. This version of the snapshot of the watercolor is a bit more red than the original but I thought that would translate better to our alien viewers...

Anyway, I have mentioned New Mo' before and it's short from New Mogadishu. It's a planet near the rim of the inhabited galaxy and a free zone. Quite decentralized one could say. And it's just a coincidence with the atmosphere around here right now. I did not think of it until two minutes ago.

The tree-like thing you see was not born there. Did not grow there. It came on a mission ;) It was part of an adventuring party from my first attempt at a role-playing campaign on the blockchain. The Word-Driven Adventure where the number of words was a dynamic resource, the energy which players had each round. And it grew over time. I still got the archives somewhere in my google docs and will be sharing some of them soon, I guess.

New Mo' was also the stage of my second short story, "Freelancers", published on Amazon by @steemfiction. Unfortunately, I am quite respectful of even words I give so I cannot share those texts here.

But I did share my whole third story initially written for the project, "The 3-rd of Rager", and it's something happening in the same extended universe. The planet next door, at an earlier stage. Much earlier. No mentions of New Mo' there.

Now, being part of a new worldbuilding community, I think I might return to one of my favorite imaginary places.

See you there! Or anywhere...

Yours,

Manol

Awesome addition to the community! I look forward to hearing more about New Mo' and the tree-being. Thanks for sharing!

Great, I'll be sharing that stuff again, when I can get back to PC, so probably next week.

The Steem blockchain is currently being attacked by a central authority in order to take control of the witnesses. If you are not managing your witness votes, please consider setting @berniesanders as your witness voting proxy by clicking here to help restore the decentralization of Steem.

This intrigues me. Did players have a word count limit that slowly increased?

Exactly. Like experience points giving you more words for the week. We had a few rounds. But now we have communities which might help such initiatives stick longer. I was pretty fresh to Steem back then.
