Greetings, everyone I must express my gratitude to @jyoti-thelight for organizing such a great contest. This is unique title, since there are numerous lessons that can be drawn from this competition. Every country has its own particular traditional attire. As a result, this competition will teach us a lot. I am eager to read all of these entries since I have a thirst for new information.

What is the traditional dress mean? Traditional clothing is any of the various outfits, jewelry, and accessories that a particular group of people wears and that have a long history. By examining its traditional costumers, people can learn a lot about the history and way of life of a country.

I will start by telling you about our traditional clothing. The National Dress, which includes a sarong and a shirt with a high neck collar and long sleeves, is the traditional attire for men in Sri Lanka.

The traditional Kandyan saree is the most popular outfit for women in Sri Lanka. Women wear this dress for a variety of occasions. Some ladies wear a saree on daily basis. Some ladies dress it as it is their work uniforms. For school teachers in Sri Lanka, it is compulsory to wear a saree. In Sri Lanka, we have different styles of sarees. These include the Indian and Kandyan styles. The Kandyan saree is more popular in hill region, as this style is originated from that area. This Kandyan saree is consists with full blouse and the saree’s length is 6-7 meters. This dress fully covers the stomach and has a partial front tuck. The top is like a piece of fabric that ladies wear over their shoulders, and this part as a tail is neatly pleated and put to free flowing.

Although Kandyan sarees are the traditional style of Sri Lanka, most ladies used to wear Indian saree styles. I am also used to dress Indian saree style when I attended to the office. I don't like to wear Kandyan style as I am a short hair lady.

Our Sri Lankan Air Holsters wear Kandyan saree as their uniform. But most of the women in Sri Lanka used to dress Indian saree style as it is very easy to dress. Kandyan style mostly used by the Bights for their wedding. On my son’s wedding day my daughter-in-law dressed a Kandyan saree, and my son wear a dress called MUL ADUMA.

Although sarees and sarongs are the traditional attire of Sri Lanka, we today see both men and women wearing a variety of outfits, including Gown, pants, salwar, jeans and t-shirts, European uniforms, and more. It is within their rights to choose their clothing, especially given the hot environment of Sri Lanka.

We can always increase our knowledge by reading the posts made on this platform from different countries.

The women's outfits are beautiful, I love them, I would look fabulous in one of those outfits, the models in the photos look elegant and beautiful.

The handsome male, for me it is strange to see a guy with a long skirt but I respect and understand that it is an attire of their culture, here in Venezuela men only wear pants.

Thanks for inviting me friend, a big hug.
