The TASTE of 😋 your TRIP. adityageorge

Hello Everyone!

Im going to detail my experience of Malaysian Street Food I was able to enjoy with my colleagues from a work trip to Kuala Lumpur. The contest link - (https://steemit.com/hive-189569/@olga.maslievich/contest-the-taste-of-your-trip-and-winners-of-week-3-start-of-week-4) organised by the #SaturdayMemories community chaired by Mrs. @olga.maslievich

We completed our work day and had the evening free, since we had already seen most of the regular sights KL had to offer we decided to go to an area of town for the local street food. The place we went to is quite famous and known as Bukit Bunting, apart from the street food its also a shopping area for the city. We were staying at a hotel near KL Sentral which is a major transport hub of the city and decided to walk to this area. As didn't have anything else to do we had a leisurely walk to Butik Bintang from our hotel which took us almost an hour.

On reaching the street we were overwhelmed by the area as we were expecting a few food carts and that's about it. Were we in for some surprise when we reached.

The place was literally a food street with small restaurants and carts lining both sides of the street and a sea of tables in the centre of the street and it was packed. The food stalls and carts had food from most South East Asian countries with a lot of variety on offer. There were also stalls selling curios and mementos of Kuala Lumpur.

After strolling through the street we decided which place to go to and entered the biggest looking stall. They had a whole load of seafood on offer from different types of fish, to BBQ skewers and whole lot more on their menu. The fresh catch was displayed in large tanks for us to choose from along with various types of skewers to barbecued. All of paired the food with some ice cold Tiger Beer which is an Asian Beer.

We did spend a lot of time here trying to sample as many things as we could even tried some exotic dishes of eel, and other seafood which we would not normally get back in India. Though none of us had the stomach to order thr frogs. This entire food tasting took us about two hours to complete and were we stuffed by the end of it.

After we completed our meal we had to try the Durian fruit which is found all over Malaysia. I wouldn't say it was the best tasting fruit Iv eaten as it definitely is an acquired taste. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they really want to be adventurous.

After that we had our leisurely stroll back to our hotel, taking in the sights Kula Lumpur had to offer. We did stop on the way to have a couple of more beers, but not much to report from there. This was your average bar that you would find in city in the world. It had cold beers, great cocktails and good music.
