SEC-S16W2 | Solo vs Group in Travel

Hey Steemian friends!

I've been both the solo explorer and the group traveler, so I would really love to share my experience in this contest and I hope you'll find it interesting!

👉 Your choice for travel alone or group: state your reasons by listing advantages and disadvantages.

For me personally, if it is a solo expedition then it must have a work commitment tag too, you know why? Because that's when I really can leave my family and friends back otherwise they will be so angry! 😃 On this Island you really can't have a solo time without your family. That's kind of a tradition and a fact.

So whenever I have work commitments, I take that opportunity to travel around that area and explore things at my own pace. You know have that ultimate "me time."

However, group travel is the best! They are like a fiesta on wheels! Even the planning gets too exciting because everybody shares their viewpoints about the trip and how it should be. Coming to a single agreement is also a victory in group travels 😃

In our road trips with friends or family, we usually sing throughout the journey. It is almost like a party, having snacks, drinks, and sharing all the jokes it's really an unmatched event for everyone to talk about the trips for years.

👉 The difference you experience on general costs by traveling in these modalities.

Now, solo travel can be a bit heavy on the wallet. Meals, hotels, transport they all on my tab. Yes, there is an option to be a Budget traveler and spend as less as you want but if you want to treat yourself to a solo feast then the cost will be higher than group travels.

Because when we shared a fancy hotel room becomes budget-friendly. Don't believe me? compare the single, double and triple rates. Splitting the cost of accommodation, meals and transport is the best way for collective adventure.

👉 For the case for going in group: which people would you like to take with you in the trip? Alone: which activities will you do?

Top contenders for my group adventures would be my Family and then those crazy bunch of friends.

Alone, I don't do much crazy stuff. I just want to admire a sea view if a beach is nearby. Otherwise, I'll be on the poolside with a good book. I know it is boring but the sweet symphony of tranquility is what I seek from solo travels.

👉 As recommendations: What are the best spots for you to travel in group/alone?

I guess in Sri Lanka beach vibes steal the show. Yes, you have all the nature, and cultural places but those sunsets or sunrises on a sandy shore with your loved ones are like unlocking the secret to pure bliss. I prefer this even in solo travel spots, particularly walking down the beach for miles.

However, when I want those adrenaline pushes, I choose more adventure trips like hiking and trekking.

Conquering peaks with a group brings a sense of happiness that I can't really find a word. I had this feeling when I visited the summit of Adam's Peak with my mother a few years back. I think that memory will last with me till I die.

In a nutshell, traveling in whatever conditions are just has to be a heartfelt conversation where you can make lasting memories. Because each journey will have unique stories to cherish in the future. So remember to travel all the time and have boundless joy and the endless possibilities it brings!
