Journey to Sabang: Exploring the Beauty of Indonesia’s Westernmost Edge

This time, I want to take you on a journey to the westernmost part of Indonesia—Sabang. I had the chance to explore this beautiful destination, and I want to share the wonders I discovered, from the peaceful village of Jaboi to the serene waters and stunning beaches.

A Glimpse of Jaboi Village
My adventure began in the charming village of Jaboi. Located in the district of Sabang, Jaboi is known for its unique natural surroundings and a welcoming atmosphere. As I walked through the village, I felt the simplicity and warmth of the local life. The village is surrounded by lush greenery and the scent of fresh air, with the sound of birds and nature filling the atmosphere.

The people here are kind and humble, and I had the opportunity to visit some of the locals who shared their stories and experiences. It was clear that the community in Jaboi is closely connected to the environment, taking care of both their land and the traditions passed down through generations.

Exploring the Beaches and Ocean
From Jaboi, I continued my journey to explore the incredible coastline of Sabang. One of the most amazing spots I visited was Pantai Iboih, a pristine beach known for its crystal-clear waters and white sandy shores. The calm waves and vibrant marine life made it an ideal place for snorkeling. I saw colorful fish swimming among the coral reefs, which were so beautiful that it felt like I was swimming in an aquarium.

Not far from Iboih is Pulau Rubiah, a small island that can be reached by boat. The island is a paradise for nature lovers and underwater explorers. The coral reefs here are well-preserved, and the marine life is abundant. I had the chance to dive into the crystal-clear waters and witness firsthand the mesmerizing underwater world of Sabang.

The Iconic Kilometer Zero Monument
Another highlight of my trip was visiting the Kilometer Zero Monument, located at the northern tip of Indonesia. This monument marks the westernmost point of the country, and standing there, I felt a deep sense of pride and connection to my homeland. It’s a perfect spot for reflection, and I took some time to enjoy the breathtaking view of the vast ocean and the nearby islands.

My trip to Sabang was an unforgettable experience, one that allowed me to appreciate the beauty of nature, the warmth of the local community, and the rich culture that thrives in this part of Indonesia.
