Share with us your best travel of the year 2024?

My best Travel of 2024 was my Trip to Yauonde in Cameroon. I visited there in April 2024. I went there by Land. On the day of the Travel, i left my house around 6am in the morning inorder to get the first bus but we ended up entering the 3rd bus. I travelled with my Uncle who was based in Cameroon because I'm not fluent in French.

Our Bus left Onitsha around 7.00am to Ikom in Cross Rivers State which would be our first stop. On getting to Awka in Anambra State, we encountered Traffic and we ended up staying for about an hour in the Traffic and it delayed our Journey. We got to Ikom around 6pm in the evening and from there, we entered another Vehicle that would take us to the Border between Cameroon and Nigeria.

When we got to the Border, we were checked by the Immigration officers. Our Passport and Yellow Card were checked and stamped by them. My Uncle changed his Naira notes to France which is Cameroon Currency. When we finally got to the park that we would bother a bus that would take us to Bamender a City in Cameroon, we found out that the last Bus just left and the next Bus would be leaving the next morning and so we slept in the Park. The next morning, we left the Park to Bamenda and when we reached Bamenda, we bothered another Vehicle which took us to Yauonde the City my Uncle lives in.

Why was it your best trip?

It was my Favorite Trip of the year 2024 because I got to leave my Country Nigeria and travel to another Country where I experience different people's Culture, way of life, food and Music. I also had the opportunity of interacting with other people. I really learnt alot during the trip.

Share with us some special moments during this trip, that you will always remember?

Some of the memorable moments during the trip was getting to see so many people speaking French fluently. It was quite interesting because this was my first time seeing that.

Another memorable moment I had during the trip was when I got to eat Cameroon roasted fish and plantain at the Park. The meal was really nice and the fish tasted different from our fish. I also got to eat their bread the next day while on transit. Their bread was long and strong and it was my first time of eating such kind of bread.

Another memorable moment was seeing so many Rivers while on transit.

The Trip was really fun, but we encountered some difficulties on our way.

First was the Traffic which made us to miss our Bus and we ended up sleeping on the Park. The mosquitos feasted on our body that night.

Another difficulty I encountered was coming down from the Vehicle and trekking to a certain place at every checkpoint inorder to get our passports and yellow card checked. I found that quite tiring. My Uncle didn't complain because he was already used to that.
