Metro rail travel and blood donation.🩸 || 09/11/2024
Hello👋 Steemian friends,
Like every day, I woke up early in the morning and went to freshen up. I got fresh and sat in the room and had a light breakfast. Today is Saturday so my university is closed. After breakfast, I took the phone and sat down for a job. The work was very important so I didn't delay any more. It was noon while I was working and I got ready for shower. After taking a bath, my friend and I sat together to eat lunch.
While resting after eating, a message came in our messenger group. I looked with interest and it said that a cancer patient needs B+ blood. The message was written by one of our elder brothers. It was very sad to see. I immediately messaged my brother, "Brother, I am interested in donating blood". Then my brother gave me the number of someone and told me to call him. I immediately called him and spoke. He told me the location where I would donate blood. I nodded and hung up.
I shared this with my roommate and asked him to accompany me to the hospital. My roommate encouraged me and agreed to go with me. It was 2.45 pm on the clock. I told my friend to get ready and I got ready too. We have to leave by 3.10 pm because on the call he said the patient is in bad condition and needs emergency blood to reach the hospital by 4.00 pm. When we finished packing we left the room. I moved out of the room but the roommate stayed in the room as he had a job. It took a kick to make him come. Capture a photo while lying outside the room. Late afternoon, the sun has dipped in the western sky.
In no time, the roommate appeared. Since we were going to Shahbagh, we decided to go by metro rail as it would save a lot of time. So we hired a rickshaw and went to Mirpur 10 metro rail station. After reaching the station, I first went to the ticket counter to buy tickets. There was a long line at the counter and I stood in line. Completed ticketing within 10 minutes. Our fare from Mirpur 10 to Shahbagh was Tk 100. You can see the ticket in the picture below.
The ticket counter was on the second floor and the metro station was on the third floor. We reached the third floor and waited for the train. Trains arrive every 5 minutes. While waiting I took a picture of the station which I have shared with you. The station was very clean.
However, after a while the train arrived. We got on the train. Since the train was very crowded, I could not take any pictures here, so I cannot share it with you. Within 15 minutes we reached Shahbagh. After all the processing we left the station and reached PG Hospital. I called the one who called for blood. In no time he appeared before me and we went for the blood test. After the blood test, we went to a doctor's room. He asked me various questions, I tried to answer them all correctly and he approved me for blood donation. Then we went to the blood loading room. There was a bit of a line here. I stood in line. I captured a picture while standing in front of the blood loading room so I am sharing it with you.
In a while I was called. My friend was still by my side. I asked him to sit outside and went inside the room to give blood. It took about 10 minutes to draw blood. After drawing blood I came out. I took some rest and sat in the rest room. I sat in the rest room and heard everything in detail from the person who needed blood. The blood is mainly needed for his nephew. Suddenly, a few days ago, his nephew was diagnosed with blood cancer. It was very sad to hear because the boy was so young. Uncle thanked us or expressed gratitude. We also asked for blessings from uncle.
When the body felt better we left the hospital for home and reached the metro station. As usual, I bought the ticket and went home by train. I came home and took rest.
