The Enchanted Valley of the Sphinxes: A Journey into the Heart of Lessinia

Hello, fellow travelers!

Today, in this post, I want to share my adventure in a mysterious place located in the province of Verona, in the regional park of Lessinia—a place where, as I mentioned, nature and mystery coexist in harmony.

We are about 20 km from the city of Verona, in a mountainous area at around 1100 meters above sea level. The Valley of the Sphinxes is a small valley near Camposilvano, a hamlet of the municipality of Velo Veronese, and this valley has become famous for its limestone monoliths, which have been shaped over time by wind and rain erosion. They almost look like sculptures created by humans, but instead, they were crafted by nature—a truly fantastic and beautiful sight to behold.

When I went there on a weekday there were very few people, but if you go there on a holiday it is always full of people, this makes you understand how touristy the place is.

The valley stretches for about 800 meters, and there's a very easy path to walk along, suitable for practically everyone, where you can observe these monoliths and also admire the surrounding nature in silence. Right now, there's also the added spectacle of autumn foliage, as we are currently in fall.

As I mentioned, it’s an ideal place for hiking and walking, with many trails that start from here and extend for several kilometers. Visiting this valley is free, and there’s no entrance fee.
