Norway is a mountainous country which offers lots of opportunitis for short and longer hikes. All over our country there are a lot of cabins that belong to the tourist association. For a fee, you can stay overnight here. Some are quite simple and you have to bring your own food. Others have good facilities with a kitchen and the possibility of cooking your own food. Then you move on the next day.

One of the places I want to visit summer 2025 is The Pulpit Rock (Prekestolen). Frist and only time I have done the hike to the top of this 604 meter heigh rock, was in 2014. It was rainy and therefor not all that pleasant to do the hike. The Pulpit Rock is located high above Lysefjord and this hike is among the most famous hikes to do in our country. Luckily we can do it on a day tour from Kristiansand, if we start to drive early in the morning. We did it as a two day trip and had an overnight at Preikestolen Fjellstue which is near the starting point of the hike. It was very convinient because of the rainy weather. Afte the hike it was great to dry up inside and sit by the fireplace. The hike takes approx 4 hours up and down and the total distance is 8 kilometers. It's no that difficult, but the elevation gain is close to 500 meters, which means it is steep and quite rocky at places. It is amazing to reach the top at look at the landscape from up here. Definitly on my plan, but I will check the weather forecast and choose a sunny day.

These photos were taken in area called Suleskar. Lysefjorden is located here. I have done lots of hikes in this area. Even the drive to get here from Setesdalen is along beautiful scenery. Another very famous hike can possible from here – The Kerag Bolt. When getting there you will find yourself at the rock / round stone that is stuck in crevice. This stone is several hundred of meters above the fjord. Many people like to stand on the stone, even it might be dangerous. I haven't done the hike yet. I only drove past the starting point. I haven't been on a proper mountain hike in my own country for a very long time. This summer the plan is to go to the mountains for longer hikes. I will choose an area I haven't been to before – Jotunheimen.

Powering up at least 50% of all liquid payout. Thank you for the support for making this possible. 😂

Thank you for visiting my post. Have a great day everyone.
