Flic en Flac, Mauritius
Port Louis, the capital
The photos above were taken on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. I am leaving on 18th of February for a three month stay on the island. The beach on the photo is Flic en Flac, located on the western side of the island. Beaches and tropical climate is the main atraction, but the island does have mountains worth a hike or two. In addition, the population is a mix of people who descents from many continents like Africa, Europe, China and India. All the major religions are represented on the island. The food culture is amazing. You can get almost anything here.
Cape Town
Stellenbosch
A couple of times I have included South Africa when I have been going to Mauritius. The first time we went to South Africa first and then continued to Mauritius. That was when we spent several days in both Cape Town and the wine districts of Stellenbosch and Franschoek. Cape Town is definitly on my list of places I want to visit again. The first photo above was taken at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. A place that is very attractive with lots of restaurants and shops. There were many musicians and dancers performing. A great experience to sit in the sun wathching them. Stellenbosch is only a short drive from Cape Town. A wine tasting at a couple of the wineries shouldn't be missed. Because I am staying in Mauritius for three month, I hope to be able to spend a week in South- Africa.
In June I am going to Berlin, Germany for a week. I haven't been there before, but it was my plan in June 2020. Tickets were cancelled.
Salinas Grande, Argentina
At the end of 2025 the plan is South America: Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia. I haven't bought my tickets yet, but the plan is almost ready. This is because I have to make som choices. Either visit many countries or chose only two and spend more time. But, I know that Ecuador is going to include the Andes and hike ( not to the top) on the slopes of Cotapaxi besides visiting some of the major cities. A trip to Ecuador will have to include the Calapagos Islands as well.
Aconcagua, Argentina
Cape Cross seal colony in Namibia
I am unsure of Venezuela, but in Colombia Bogota, Medelin and Cartegena are cities where I will want to spend time. I will use them as a base for exploring coffee plantations, historical places and countryside. In Bolivia the Uyuni Salt flats will be a must visit, but Titicaca, La Paz and Sucre also. I have to check for hikes in Boliva. Venezuala has Caracas, but also Angel Falls....
Thank you for visiting my post. Have a great day everyone.
