Steemwomen Club Contest #15 D. I. Y (Do It Yourself) Art | D. I. Y Recycled Outfit for my baby girl
Hello beautiful women of Steemwomen Club. How have you been? Hope that your all doing good. Today, I want to share with you my kind of DIY.
I've been loving DIY since I gave birth to my 1st born, my baby girl. I always make her a motif every month for every outfit she wears and for her backdrop designs just so she can look more beautiful.
Last year when I was still pregnant, I always wore a duster. I have lots of duster because it feels so comfortable to wear. But now I don't wear it anymore because it's a little loose for me. I've decided to make my old clothes into my baby's outfits so that it won't be wasted and it can still be used.
Now, I just wanna share with you on how to recycle my old duster.
MATERIALS TO BE USED:
-Old duster
-Tape measure
-Garter
-Scissor
-Thread
STEPS ON HOW TO CUT:
Step 1: Divide the fabric into two parts.
Step 2: Use the lower part of the fabric and fold it once horizontally.
Step 3: Then start to cut for the short/lower.
This is what it looks like.
Step 4: Cut a rectangle for the top back portion.
Step 5: With the remaining fabric make this shape for the top front portion.
Step 6: Unfold all fabric that has been already cut.
STEPS IN SEWING:
This time I will be using our sewing machine but it's alright if you sew it by using your hand with the needle and thread.
Step 1: Let's start with the short/lower, Sew the label 1 up to 2.
Step 2: Attach the other pair.
Step 3: Attach the Garter to the waist part of the shorts and Sew the bottom edge.
Step 4: For the top back portion, Sew all the sides from label 1 to label 4.
Step 5: For the top front portion, Sew all the sides.
Step 6: Attach the top back and the front top.
Step 7: Make and sew a neck strap in the front top and ribbon for the hair.
This is what it looks like.
Step 8: Bow Tie the front and its all done.
The good thing is I have fabric left, so I decided to make it a skirt so that it looks like new to other people.
Hope you get atleast a little idea from me. Thank you so much for reading my entry.
I would also like to invite @caicaicai to join this contest.
