Introduction

Welcome to my blog. Today I will be writing about a lady whose pride makes her lose all that she had in life. And also with some valuable lessons concerning pride.

Once upon a time there was a young lady named Linda. Linda was from a rich family, her parents were well-to-do. They had all the material things needed to take care of Linda and her sister.
Linda was always treated as a queen right from when she was three years old. She grew up to recognise how she was treated and also like the way she was treated too. She was sent to a very good school which some people around her could not afford going to the school. And when she comes back from school, her parents do discourage her from mingling with other kids around her.

Since Linda was raise that way, she grow up to be arrogant and feel that she is on top of the world.
After her Secondary Education, her parents sent her to university abroad. After her 5 years course in the university she came back home as a graduate. Because of her parent's reputation, she was opportune to get a job in one of the high paying company in Nigeria. She droves the lastest SUV (Special utility viechle) and live in a classy house in the GRA (government reserves area) in Abuja, Nigeria.

One day, one of her colleagues in office Lucia, had a traditional marriage and as tradition demands, she will have to go down the village where she comes from to perform the marital right.
She invited everyone to the traditional marriage which Linda was invited too.
On the day of the traditional marriage, Linda was set for the marriage, after driving few hours to the village, she stopped by the village market Square to confirm from her colleague Lucia if she is on the right road.

She stepped out of her car, walked a distance away from the car while talking to her colleague Lucia on phone.
While she was still talking to her on phone, a beggar came around with plate, begging her to give her something. She chased the woman away in an arrogant manner. "Will you get out of here you smelling, dirty, mad woman and beggar. Do I look like your class? Will you get out of here before I call the police for you." And the woman reply, "Please my daughter, I am not a mad woman, am just a poor woman who has not eaten for days now. Please my daughter help me, nothing will be too small.
And she replied "Do I look like someone you can give birth to? You are not my mother and you can never be my mother, get out you disgusting, smelling bagger. Do I look like a charity home to you? Get out ........... "

The poor woman left shedding tears and Linda continues in her phone call. When she was through with the call, she wanted to put her phone inside her handbag but mistakingly the phone fell on the ground.
While she was moving, the woman who was watching her as she was moving was calling on her, trying to tell her that her phone has dropped on the ground but she refused to listen to the woman.
She got into her car and zoom off, the woman ran to her, beating the car and trying to let her know about her phone. She stop the car, angrily opens the door and slapped the woman warning her not to come near her again. When she was through warning the woman, she went back to her car and the woman told her that, she didn't want to beg her this time, that she wanted to tell her that her phone fell to the ground. She ran to the car, checked her handbag and the phone was nowhere to be found. She went back to the woman and asked her where the phone is, and the woman told her that as at the time she was warning and causing her, that a guy came out from that uncompleted building to pick the phone. She lamented and promised to give the woman anything she would want in her life if can helps her get the phone back.

And the woman replied "You can't go out with a dirty, smelling, mad woman like me, can you? I can't go with you to search for your phone". She keeps on making promises to the woman and she said that she cant lose that phone because all her documents is in that phone, her bank details and almost everything she hard laboured for. She said the phone is so expensive and that she bought it #300,000 that is about 2850 steem.

The woman refuse to go with her, telling her to learn to be kind to people.
Linda lost her phone and all that she had in the phone, and eventually she was sacked from her job.

Conclusion

From the story we have seen that if Linda was kind the the poor woman who didn't demand much from her, she wouldn't have lost her phone. She would have shared in her colleague's traditional marriage and she wouldn't have lost her job too. It is good to be kind to anyone that cross our part.
Remember kindness pays. And pride comes before a fall.
