How I enjoy Pawpaw or Papaya and some of it's health benefits. 10%payout to @steemwomensclub by @starxious
I'll be writing on what pawpaw is, as it is also called papaya, how I enjoy consuming it, and some of the health benefit the fruit contains.
Pawpaw or papaya is an oval or round shape fruit but mostly oval. It is greenish in colour while unripe but begins to turn yellow when getting ripped while the inside is yellow or orange in colour when ripped with black seeds in the circle at the middle. Papaya is one of those fruits being consumed at the end of the year in Nigeria.
For the love of fruits, my mum made our compound a mini orchard with several fruits being consumed in their seasons. Because of the availability of them, we became lovers of fruits too. The consumption of pawpaw this year for us increased due to the increased number of trees we nortured.
WHAT I DO BEFORE CONSUMPTION
Firstly, I find a ripped or mini ripped one from the tree, then plug out. The mini ripped can be enjoyed by those who loves crunchy bites like myself.
Secondly, I wash the fruit twice or more depending on how convince I get of it neatness.
Thirdly, I begin to pill the outer layer before dividing it into two to separate the seed from the fruit. Then I slice it into preferable size in a plate for consumption.
SOME HEALTH BENEFIT OF PAWPAW FOR WOMEN
Pawpaw is a healthy fruit from its leaves to the seeds but I'll focus on the fruit and leaf today.
FRUIT
- It helps boosts the immune system: Everyone (woman) needs their immune systems boost up always to stay healthy as a boosted immune system fights diseases. Papaya contains large amount of Vitamin C which makes it an immune booster. Vitamin C is also good for the teeth and gums
- It also contains Vitamin A which makes it a great eye care.
- It promotes hair growth: Vitamin A aside caring for the eye, they are effective for maintaining healthy hair because of the presence of sebum in them which is responsible for keeping the hair moisturized, smooth and shiny.
- Papaya helps to exfoliate our skin: Rubbing the sliced one on the face and rinsing after few minutes removes dead cells leaving the surface moisturized and softens.
That's why cusmetic companies uses the fruit for their products.
Though research shows that it is harmful for a pregnant woman due to the presence of latex on the unripe fruit
LEAVES
The old yellowish leaves are use as medications for illness such as malaria, fever.
The knowledge of this health benefits makes consuming pawpaw even sweeter
