The "Dress For Every Girl Project" Continues || SteemWomen Club Chain of Goodness Event
Hello to all the beautiful and wonderful women of the SteemWomen Club community. Magandang buhay! Greetings from my beautiful country, the Philippines! 🇵🇭
It's a wonderful Tuesday today. And I want to take this opportunity to thank God for the blessing of life and love, for the gift of family and friends. Today, I'd like to share this week's accomplishment with my "DRESS FOR EVERY GIRL PROJECT". My goal is to give as many dresses as I could to all the girls in my school, in my community and who knows, one day to the rest of Lapu-Lapu City or Cebu or the Philippines. I offer all these to God who is always generous with His time, His wisdom, His kindness, His people.
"Give a girl a dress to twirl in and give her the confidence to conquer the world."
For this week, I continued my DRESS FOR EVERY GIRL PROJECT. I always envisioned of giving every girl a dress in my place. I think, one of the most valued possession of every girl is to own at least one dress. Indeed, owning at least a dress or two is one of a girl's prized possession. Not all girls have the chance to own a dress, especially in places where hunger and war is prevalent. My place is a blessed place because we could walk without the fear of our lives. And I really pray for everyone on Earth to live in a safe place, free to play and enjoy the sun, and free to pursue their dreams.
For this week, I will share about my project which I have also extended in Olango Island. Last Sunday, I have distributed dresses for the girls in Olango Island. I wasn't able to bring many dresses because we were also carrying some items for the charity that we did last Saturday. But I am planning to bring some more and give dresses to more girls the next time we visit the island.
Heading to Olango Island
Here are some of the girls wearing the dresses I gave them. They are girls from 6th grade to 9th grade. It just feels so overwhelming to see their smiles wearing their dress.
It also made me happy during my activity, about Tati. She's a gay and like a big sis to everyone in the island, very friendly and cheerful person. She does stuffs like manicure, pedicure, haircut, hair color for a living. I also gave her something that she really liked. She's so excited to wear her blouse for the coming fiesta that she's attending to.
I also have some of my students who have shared their pictures wearing the dress I gave them last time through their parents during the distribution of modules.
My heart is just so happy with another accomplishment this week. It might not be that grand, but I know fulfilling one of a girl's wish to own a dress is enough for me, to see them loving the dress they're wearing. Because, I was once a girl too, wishing to own a dress one day.
