The Diary Game, 11/06/2022: The big pack!

Hi there!

It’s been ages since the last time I had you in my hands. It’s not that I don’t love you anymore that I can promise you. The engagement challenges kept me and so many of my Steemit friends very busy and away from our diaries.

I promise, I am back!

We are busy with the “big pack” and I just have to tell you about it.

Pretty soon we will be leaving the sun rising over the city of Johannesburg for the sun rising over the beautiful blue ocean of Ballito. It has been a huge decision for us but we trust that we have made the right one.

I cannot believe the amount of “things” one collects over the years. This whole moving experience is an eye opener for me. Where did all the stuff came from? Best of all, where is it going to?
When you have two piles, “to take with” and “to get rid of” you find yourself very reluctant to put things in the last pile.

My hubby keeps on telling me that we have worked hard and paid for the things we have collected but I am adamant, if we have not use it in the last six months we are definitely not going to use it.
The same with clothing. If you have not wear it in the last six months you not going to wear it again. On the other hand, I can do with a few new pieces of clothing in my cupboard.

My dearest diary, enjoy my last entry from Krugersdorp.

RISE AND SHINE

Each morning sunrise from our home is just a stunning experience with not one morning being the same. You cannot help but to wonder about the amazing Power behind it.

This morning was extra special for me. Maybe because of the amount of mornings we have left in our home or maybe it is just that I am a little bit emotional which add to me being sensitive and in a way also heart sore.

There was no other option but to post one of these photos as my daily devotion message to my Christian Facebook page this morning. Judging from the amount of replies it looks like the subscribers enjoyed it.

That brings me to my studying of the Bible in one year. I have to admit that I have fallen behind but I am sure I make up the days once settle at the coast.
Just imagine, me sitting next to the ocean doing my Bible study. See, there are always a positive side to a negative side.

EARLY MORNING

Amy and Travis slept over last night. It was so nice having them by us for old time’s sake. Of course granny had to spoil them. They only went to bed at ten and we had McDonald’s for breakfast. We won’t tell mom but I am convinced that a McDonald’s treat now and again is harmless not to mention any kids dream.

My husband and I are very meticulous when it comes to our personal things therefor I had to find ways to make packing as easy and organized as possible. We are at first renting with the result that we have to keep the things going into storage separate from the rest. This is no easy task.

MOM’S TAXI IS ON THE MOVE

Mom’s taxi moved twice to today. The first time for the outing to McDonald’s and to take the kids home and the second time to fetch Divan from school.

Yes, from school on the Saturday. There was a musical feast at his school. As a goodbye to all his friends the boys enjoyed their last morning together. There was also a fun park with rides. When Divan came walking to the car I could see that something was wrong.

When he was on one of the rides the safety belt came loose and he had to hold on for dear life. He got whiplash and hurt his back. I know that the kids and even adults love these rides but they are so dangerous. If he didn’t hold on he would have fallen from a height of 30 meters. I shiver just to think what could have happened.

One thing I know he will remember the words of the song “Hold on for dear life” for a very long time.

I think that my fear of heights
Is really just a fear of sight
'Cause when I close my eyes
Everything feels fine
Sometimes I feel like the kite
And sometimes I feel like the hands
That hold the strings too tight
Hold on for dear life

FROM DUSK TO DAWN

Back home and it was time for some more packing. We literally packed from dusk to dawn.
All of a sudden there are opens spaces all over the home.

Oh yah! Somehow I found time to write a post and to answer on nearly 70 replies. It is true after all, we will always find time for the things we love doing.

Dear diary, moving away from my family is the most difficult thing I have to do. My mom, now 85, has been living with me for the last 25 years. It is going to be hard to leave her, my daughter, my grandchildren and the rest of the family behind.

Come Tuesday and I’m not going to shed a tear or two. No, I know it is going to be buckets full of tears but I have to be strong and I know it is not the end. I'm not going to forget them and I am for sure still going to take care of them.

Deep down I'm also excited about the new chapter in my life.

Time to say… “Dear diary, this is where I close you for the day”

Think of me in the days to come. Next time I will not only be filling your pages with ink but also with the smell of the ocean.

Thank you for your uplifting words! 🌼
I must be honest with you I’m not a supporter of the unknown. I found myself being very emotional lately but life goes on and you must support your husband.
It is our lives and for once we must think about our happiness first.

I really feel am there to help out with the packing my dear friend. I understand how it feels to pack but it may not be as yours. Whatever the case, just know that am there in spirit. Success to you!

McDonald's can really spoil everyone with their delicacies. You have done giving your grandchildren a treat. From their looks, they really enjoyed those.

Divan will miss his friends big time but the last day will never be forgotten. Mummy's taxi will always be on the move I will like to enter that taxi someday.

Those beautiful sunsets will be missed but not to worry, you are going to enjoy the sunsets in the new apartment more.

I wish you all successes my own! Just discard the ones you don't need and with this experience, you buy just few things going forward, right? You will not like to have such experience again.

Catch you in your next diary

Thank you for your kind words and good wishes. I'm taking them with me all the way to Ballito.
Divan also says; "Tell aunty Noen I say thank you" Your nickname by him (•ิ‿•ิ)

aunty Noen

I have adopted this nickname. Tell him to tell me the reason behind the nickname. I will like to really adopt it as a gift from him.
Please tell Divan a big thank you and a big hug 🤗🤗🤗🤗 from aunt Neon

It will give me great pleasure to drive mom's taxi to the airport to fetch you

This will be awesome 👍! Entering mom's taxi will be a great honour to me and I can't wait.

He says that you will have to come to South Africa so that he can tell you in person. Haha!
We can never win where there are kids involved. :-)

It's always put painful being separated from our love ones but I thank God it's not a permanent separation. There must be times for visitations ok. It's well with you ma.

Thanks my friend! We’ve unpack and the nightmare of the move is now behind us. It feels like I’m holiday here at the coast.
Missing the family will soon become a reality but you are right we can always visit.

My husband is always on the run when it comes to packing and arranging so I have learned to start early and finish on time then my stuffs will be cute and we'll organized.
I can understand the feeling of missing mom and her love that has always been around your family, but your will be fine

One thing I know after this episode is that I don’t want to move ever again but yah I know there is another move coming as we are currently renting until we’ve found the right place to buy.
Thank you for reading my post 🌼

Ohhhhh MMM, so you will still need to pack again, I feel for you so much, but don't worry you will have strength.
