Today, I will be discussing a very pressing issue in our society and most especially amongst us female the folks.

DISCUSSION

Infertility is so bad and hurting especially when everything appear normal but still no conception takes place.

Many beautiful homes and marriages today are strained as a result of infertility.

Infertility is a state whenby a woman has not able to get pregnant after one year of active sexual intercourse with her partner without the use of any method of birth control.
A woman can also be in this state if she gets pregnant but keeps having miscarriages.

The impact of infertility can be confusing and devastating especially when you can't point a finger to where it's coming from.

Infertility is of two types:

  1. Primary infertility whereby a woman has never had a child birth successfully.
This type is majorly structural problems from birth or hormones imbalances and it be from either the man or the woman.

  2. Secondary infertility whereby the woman is unable to conceive again after having a successful birth. This one could be as a result of medical condition or reproductive organs or hormones related. This type of infertility is easier to manage compared to the later because it can easily be diagnosed and corrected.

Some Common Factors that can lead to Infertility

Most cases of infertility in women is as a result of problems with producing eggs.

Others are:

🎗️ Age: The older a woman gets, the lower the quality and quantity of the eggs she produces.

🎗️ Lifestyles like nutrition, smoking, alcohol consumption.

🎗️ Hormones problems.

🎗️ Physical factors like too much or rigorous excercises, body weight, stress etc.

🎗️ Environmental factors like exposure to heat, some dangerous chemicals and radiation

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

You must first of all, choose a healthy lifestyle

✍️ So no to alcohol consumption and anything smoking. These drastically reduces your chances of conceiving.

✍️ Stress can be more devastating. Avoid it at all cost.

✍️ Cut down on coffee and caffeine. Did you know that caffeine can even cause miscarriages?

✍️ Take more of vegetable proteins like beans, seeds and nuts.
Fruits, vegetables, grains and nuts that are rich in antioxidants such as Vitamins E, C and Folate should form the basis of your diet.
Reduce your intake of carbohydrates to help improve your hormones level.
Moderately increase your fibre rich foods to keep your blood sugar in check and to help remove excess hormones.

FotoGrid_20220820_133752943.jpg
✍️Be physically active. Your body weight plays a relevant factor when it comes to conception.
Being overweight or underweight can negatively affect your chances of conceiving.
Exercise moderately.

✍️ Stay away from unnecessary exposure to heat, x-ray radiations and dangerous chemicals.

With the above factors in progress, then;
SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION.

Visit a medical specialist to first of all go over your medical history to check;

• if you're ovulating regularly,

• your hormone levels,

• do ultrasound to check the wellness of the uterus and the fallopian tube.

From the medical expert's findings,

✓ Fertility supplements which must be rich in folate and iron may be given to boost or restore ovulation and hormone levels.

✓ Surgery could be done to get rid of any tissue that may be blocking the fallopian tubes.

You may decide to opt for other options such as IVF or IUI if other efforts don't seem to be working.

∆ IVF - In Vitro Fertilization is a process where by sperm and egg are collected from the couple and placed together in the laboratory for about 3 to 5 days for the egg to grow before placing it in the woman's uterus.

∆ IUI - Intrauterine Insemination is a process where by the sperm from the man is collected and placed directly inside the woman's uterus during her ovulation period.

Notes:

  1. One must have been unable to conceive for a duration of one year before she can be referred to as infertile.

  2. As a mature lady ready for marriage, it is advised that you start taking supplements rich in folate or at least folic acid tablets before marriage so as to prepare your body for conception.

CONCLUSION

In all of these, GOD who is our original creator and The One who blesses us according to His riches in glory MUST never be left out. He has done before, He is still doing it and He will continue to do for us His children.

He has promised to save us in our days of trouble IF only we call upon Him.

I fertility is that monster that can break a home especially for those not willing to learn the causes. Most women are enduring marriage as a result instead of enjoying it. With your explanations here, I think it's well understood. Primary and secondary infertility awareness is good for all to learn. I have also learned the causes especially that of age. Thanks for sharing

You have written beautifully about infertility, infertility is a big issue that is a threat to marriages. However, I would love to add that all woman should register their ante-natal in a reputable hospital to avoid the case of secondary infertility.

If a woman with O Rhesus Negative gets married to a positive man and was not taken to a good hospital that will tell them that the woman needs to be given RhoGAM injection on or before 72 hours after birth, such a woman will not be able to give birth to another child alive. Thanks for sharing.
