I am here to talk about my local attire that is to say my traditional wear.

I come from the southwestern of Uganda which is kisoro district and I am a mufumbira by tribe.there is no much difference between the bafumbira and banyarwanda since almost everything they do is the same from the language, stable food to the nature of dressing.
Kisoro district is on the boarder of Rwanda and I here that most if the people in kisoro originated from Rwanda.

Our local attire is a mushanana.its a traditional ceremonial dress which we wear on formal occasions such as traditional ceremonies like giveaway, weddings, church, burial and baptism parties.
A mushanana consists of a wrapper skirt , sash and a vest or a tank top.
It's fabric is made of light and heavy silk

The process of wearing a mushanana
After wearing your vest or tank top that you have selected to match your mushanana.

Tie the wrapper skirt of the mushanana around your waist.make folds on the hips so that it can look smart and tie it when the legs are slightly apart so as to let you walk properly.

Then put on the sash which is put on the shoulder.you can choose to hold it over your hand or use a round jewelry such a bangle to hold it together.

Some are plain coloured and others are flolar though plain colours are usually won by the maids of the bride on the giveaway ceremonies.

Wearing a mushanana shows a sense of loyalty, respect and pride in our culture.
Some occasions like giveaways it is a must to dress in a mushanana as for other occasions you can decide not to put it on.

The price of a mushanana varies according to the material/fabric but the ones I put on they go from 56 steem to 149steem.

Invite @gladys-nanyanga, @amastella, @marjor and @ariseandshine to take part in this contest.
