The environment has suffered a lot more than we ever know and it is our individual responsibility to take good care of it. The event "Nature Hub: Thinking Ways, Making Actions" is an event organized with the primary goal to educate the residents of Balamban, Cebu on the importance of the environment and how to take good care of it and cleaning the coast of the area.

The place offers a lot of bounty to its residents from fishing to farming. With the goal of industrialization the place has been a hotspot for creating nature parks and city malls. The residents are anxious of this for the reason that maybe their livelihood would be at stake. We decided to conduct a free environmental seminar to the residents on ways how to take good care of the environment, we also taught them how to have a sustainable living.

They are very happy and all ears during the whole seminar. We also conducted a survey to know the opinions and reflections of the residents after the whole talk. Most of them are very thankful because they are now aware and educated on things that they can do to take good care of their environment.

Our group also prepared food for the community and to those who attended the seminar. To also help the residents, we personally bought the foods to local and small stores in the area as an addition to foods that we have prepared. This may be in small way but small sellers are happy and thankful. This also makes our heart full.

After all of this, we also lend a hand to clean the coastal area of the place. The main means of living for them is fishing, truly nature has been good to us. Sacks and sacks of trashes were collected along the shore. It is indeed our responsibility to take good care of our environment.

The whole event was a great experience and it makes me more driven to do things like this in the future. One small step can be a great leap in saving our environment and helping the community in need, it is like hitting two birds with one stone.
