STEEM WOMEN CLUB COMMUNITY: Chain of Goodness //Blessed to Be A Blessing
A famous Chinese saying goes:
“If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”
In Church, we are also taught that it is better to give than to receive. Not that we are expecting something in return but because we feel the happiness in giving. And so last week, we started a small gesture of love for the people in Olanggo Island.
That's me in black shirt. The waves weren't gentle, nevertheless, we arrived safe.
Upon arriving, we were welcomed by the warm smiles of the islanders. We had a short sharing of God's words. Not only did we bring them material things but we also feed them with spiritual food.
After the short message, we are ready to distribute our token of love. Through the efforts of @limcuy (my husband) and the help of his friend, we were able to provide slippers to at least 22 children and a cash gift of P500 each to 16 families.
Seeing their happy faces touches our hearts. It may be just a small amount but the feeling is very rewarding. They did not expect to receive anything yet they were anticipating for our presence.
These are some of the kids who received the slippers. Some of them went home after he distribution. Imagine how happy they are with just a pair of slipper. Truly, our simple act of kindness can go a long way.
We went home with hearts full of joy and fulfillment. Super thank you to our sponsors for making the ministry successful. The happier we are knowing that we were able to give something out of love.
That's all for today. I hope I am able to encourage you to be a blessing to others as well.
To @steemwomenclub, thank you for creating this Chain of Goodness event. Thank you as well to @booming, @steemcurator01, @steemcurator02 for your continued support.
