Cómo bien saben todos, la situación de la pandemia, ha trastocado toda nuestras vidas cambiándola radicalmente. Nos ha tocado aplicar nuevas estrategias de trabajo en los distintos campos de nuestra cotidianidad y la educación no es la excepción. En todos los niveles educativos se están implementando modalidades virtuales o semi virtuales, como medida preventiva para disminuir los riesgos de contagio del covit-19.
As everyone knows, the pandemic situation has radically changed all our lives. We have had to apply new work strategies in the different fields of our daily lives and education is no exception. Virtual or semi-virtual modalities are being implemented at all educational levels as a preventive measure to reduce the risk of covit-19 infection.
Ya he escrito en otras oportunidad sobre este tema y cómo ha sido mi experiencia hasta ahora educando en casa a mis dos pequeñas princesas. Hoy les traigo un sencillo proyecto que realizó mi hija para una asignación que le mando a realizar su maestra en su colegio. Quise compartirla con ustedes porque me pareció una opción excelente para que se distraigan los chicos en casa y luego resultado les dara horas y hora de sana distracción.
I have written about this topic before and how my experience has been so far homeschooling my two little princesses. Today I bring you a simple project that my daughter did for an assignment that her school teacher sent her to do. I wanted to share it with you because I thought it was an excellent option to distract the kids at home and as a result it gives them hours and hours of healthy distraction.
La actividad se trató de la elaboración de un juego de Dama, la maestra solicitó dentro de pautas a seguir, que se realizará con materiales reciclados. En nuestro caso nuestra mejor opción fue usar el cartón, ya que, era el material que teníamos disponible en ese momento.
The activity was about the elaboration of a Checkers game, the teacher requested within the guidelines to be followed, that it should be made with recycled materials. In our case, our best option was to use cardboard, since it was the material we had available at the time.
Las otras instrucciones dada por la profesora, eran sencillas deberían elaborar un tablero de 32 cm de ancho por 32 cm de alto. El cuadrado resultante debía ser dividido en casillas para ello era debian trazar filas y columnas de 4 cm cada una. Por supuesto, también debían realizar 24 fichas de las cuales 12 debian ser blancas y las otras 12 debían ser negras.
The other instructions given by the teacher were simple: they should make a board 32 cm wide by 32 cm high. The resulting square had to be divided into squares, for which they had to draw rows and columns of 4 cm each. Of course, they also had to make 24 pieces of which 12 had to be white and the other 12 had to be black.
Lo primero que hizo mi hija fue trazar el cuadrado de 32 cm x 32 cm siguiendo las medidas indicadas por la maestra, para seguidamente cortarlo. Como el cartón utilizado era reciclado de la portada de un block de dibujo viejo. El lado que usaríamos era de color marrón, pero se necesitaba que fuera blanco. Como no teníamos en casa pintura blanca la opción más viable fue forrar el futuro tablero con hojas de papel tañamo carta. Cabe destacar que las hojas de papel que mi hija utilizo, también era recicladas.
The first thing my daughter did was to trace the 32 cm x 32 cm square following the measurements indicated by the teacher, and then cut it out. As the cardboard used was recycled from the cover of an old drawing pad. The side we would use was brown, but it needed to be white. As we did not have white paint at home, the most viable option was to line the future board with sheets of tissue paper. It should be noted that the sheets of paper my daughter used were also recycled.
Una vez forrado con hojas de papel tamaño carta lo que sería el tablero, mi hija trazo 8 columna de 4 cm de ancho cada una y 8 filas de 4 cm de alto cada una. Con ello formó las casillas que seguidamente empezó a colorear de negro de forma alterna de esa manera fue quedando una casilla blanca y luego una negra.
Once the board was lined with sheets of letter size paper, my daughter traced 8 columns of 4 cm wide each and 8 rows of 4 cm high each. With this she formed the squares, which she then began to color in black alternately, leaving a white square and then a black square.
Cuando mi hija terminó de colorear las casillas que debían ser de color negro. Para traza las fichas ella uso una tapa de refresco, tuvimos la suerte que encontramos un pedazo de cartón de color negro con el realizo las fichas negras. En el caso de las fichas de color blanco se trazaron y cortaron en cartulina blanca.
When my daughter finished coloring the squares that were to be black, she used a soda cap to trace the tiles. To trace the cards she used a soda cap, we were lucky enough to find a piece of black cardboard with which she made the black cards. In the case of the white tiles they were traced and cut on white cardboard.
Como paso final para reforzar el tablero y que sea más duradero, se le coloco por todo el borde cinta plástica. OK ya el juego de Damas estaba listo, faltaba cumplir con la última instrucción de la maestra y era filmar un video jugando. Como mi hija no sabía jugarlo, fue la excusa perfecta para que mi esposo lo hiciera. Ahora frecuentemente se sientan a jugar un rato a la Damas y se divierten mucho. Bueno espero les gustar este sencillo proyecto y lo realicen con los pequeños de la casa.
As a final step to reinforce the board and make it more durable, plastic tape was placed all around the edge. OK, the Checkers game was ready, the last instruction from the teacher was to film a video of the game. Since my daughter didn't know how to play it, it was the perfect excuse for my husband to do it. Now they often sit down to play Checkers for a while and have a lot of fun. Well I hope you like this simple project and do it with the little ones at home.
