Hello beautiful women I'm grateful to know that we are always healthy and looking good at all times. Welcome to my blog today and guess what I'll be discussing about another interesting topic that all women needs to be aware of, it can be useful to your friend if not you. Should you die of ANEMIA because you can't afford prenatal supplements? Should your baby die because you can't help yourself? Should your baby live with a serious birth defects? NO this can't happen when we are blessed with natural remedies around us, So please help me pass the information.
Today, I will discuss how to avoid anaemia in pregnancy first let's know what is anaemia
WHAT IS ANAEMIA? |
---|
It is a condition in which the number of healthy blood or hemoglobin in the body is lower than normal in the body and this causes reduction of oxygen flow to the body different organs.
During pregnancy the volume of blood the body needs increases because the body needs more blood and as such the intake of iron and vitamins should increase as well so as to help the body produce more of protein (heamoglobin) in the red blood cells which helps in transporting of oxygen to other organs in the body and the foetus. If you default in this, it result in aneamia especially in seconds and third trimester.
Anaemia is more common in pregnancy, it has already affected 60% of pregnant women, and as a result they become weak, dizziness, pale skin etc.
The causes depends on the type;
Iron deficiency;
Vitamin B12;
Folate(folic acid);
Underweight baby
Preterm birth
Postpartum depression
Child born with severe anaemia
Serious birth defects
Once you start seeing pregnancy signs, visit your doctor for check up and once you are confirmed pregnant, do not fail to go for check up as you are advised to so as to have a regular prenatal examination test to monitor you.
To avoid seeing ourselves in the middle of this risk, our people normally says that "prevention is better than cure" so let us see how aneamia can be prevented in pregnancy.
- Take prenatal vitamins;it contains most micronutrient that the body needs during pregnancy, so it is a must you take this supplement. It is of different types so you need to confirm from your doctor which you are to take. Also when planning to conceive, folic acid 400mcg daily should be taken before and during pregnancy.
But in a case you do not have enough money to take regular prenatal supplements, you can go natural let's consider those things you can take to boast the product of red blood cells.
- Good nutritious food; it is very vital that pregnant women pays attention to their food to also help them take the necessary vitamins their body needs. Good nutritious food before pregnancy do not only help in preventing anemia, but it also helps build other nutritional stores in your body. Eating a healthy, balanced diet before and during pregnancy helps keep the levels of iron and other important nutrients needed for the growing feotus.
