Application for Community of the Month Support Program - October

Our Greetings to the Steemit Team and to all and sundry,

We are grateful to have had the pleasure to serve on the support program since it's inception and we are here once again to turn in our application for the month of October as mandated by the rules and guidelines. This application is turned in by the community leaders of steem-ghana.

Community Purpose

---

We have the goal of bringing all Ghanaians under one umbrella whiles we continue to work towards self-sufficiency. We also have the objective of making steem known throughout the entire country through regular promotional activities across the various regions and in the various universities within the country.

With avenues of social media at our disposal we are looking at more social media engagement by advertising steem and getting investors on board. We have been doing this for quite a while now and will continue to do so till we have the masses within the country onboard with us together with some of the great entrepreneurs some of which plans are been made to make contact.

Our community also serve as a major link for all Ghanaian steemians across the country from different regions and districts. We seek to improve the life of the average Ghanaian through promotional activities, getting them onboard as a group, helping them invest in their future and helping them achieve some form of financial support.

Many have been brought to the blockchain over the years and months and we hope to continue to do this as the days goes by this will not only help make lives better but also abridge the gap between the poor and wealthy in the society and alleviate poverty which goes in line with the sustainable development goals.

Community Team

---

Our team is made up of 3 country representatives and a 5 members committee head by the reps. The coming together of members and reps to form the committee is to make it easier to reach the entire community populace and also make it easier for concerns to be addressed when they arise.

The number also provide us with the opportunity to share duties across board so the community is co-run by members themselves. As at now our 5 member team have various duties and responsibilities including checking of plagiarism, coming up with contests, community engagement and commenting, support for newbies etc.

Works such as reports, verification of newbies, guiding of newbies, curation with various accounts including the official steem-ghana account and curator accounts are done by country representatives together as a team to ensure that every posts get some form of reward.

Community leaders also organize meetups, meetings on discord and zoom and account for the active and inactive members as well as the general overview of the community.

Community Curation

Community is with the support of steemcurator04 as handled by African country representatives for which we are a member, there is also currently tier 1 booming support which allows us to pick 5 posts within the day for support and also support from our official steem-ghana account.

The steem-ghana account also helps votes members on a daily basis based on quality of content and adherence to content etiquetter and PoB system as mandated by the blockchain.

Plagiarism & Abuse

---

As plagiarism goes against what the blockchain stands for, we are always up and doing when it comes to checking for plagiarism and meting out the necessary punishment where needed. For the month of September the number of plagiarized content reduced drastically to an almost zero and for that we are proud of how well our community members are doing.

In our community we have zero tolerance for abuse as it creates discord amongst community members. This has cause lots of harmony and unity to grow stronger in our community and we are keen on continuing on this path and making adding value to the steem ecosystem.

Engagement and Commenting

---

Country Representatives as well as community support team makes sure to leave not post without engagement or comments. Members are admonished to continue doing their best and guided where necessary in aid of producing more quality content on a daily basis.

Leaders continue to highlight the need and importance of community engagement in all activities, which has led to members consciously developing the habit of visiting each other's posts and leaving a comment and engaging others every now and then.

Engagement motivates users to write more and share more, it brings the sense of appreciation and the sense of belonging. And so we will continue to uphold this even as we comment, follow and resteem each other's good content.

Plans and Update

---

In addition to our regular contests we have started various projects within the various regions and campuses aimed at bring onboard more students. We believe that students are more amenable to learning and would grasp concepts of investment quicker and help us grow. They would also be more willing to partake in activities such as cryptoacademy on the blockchain.

We also continue to look out for unemployed graduates and ordinary Ghanaians who lives can be supported through the blockchain. This would help alleviate hunger and poverty within our various localities helping the SDGs in our own ways.

Promotion

---

Ghana as a community on the blockchain is well known for our promotional activities and we continue to do this on a regular basis, spreading the tentacles of the blockchain to all across wherever we may find ourselves whether it be in our colleges, universities, hostel, areas, districts or regions.

On a daily basis newbies are been brought onboard and guided or mentored to be able to stay and remain consistent in our activities. We also have measures in place working with financiers such as mobile money vendors, bankers and savings and loans groups to get them onboard the blockchain.

The use of steem braded apparels such as T-shirts and the use of flyers has become a habit if not a hobby for most if not all Ghanaian steemians as we continue to promote steem everyday, anyday and everywhere.

Why Support Us

We are the only and official Ghanaian community on the blockchain and as we seek to make steem known to all Ghanaians and bring more Ghanaians onboard, it would be difficult for us to do this work without your support or help as it would help sustain our community help members grow towards self-sufficiency and in line with the aims and objectives of our community.

Supporting us also means that we get to retain the many Ghanaians been brought in on a daily basis and the success of our various projects in the pipelines getting supports from even outside the blockchain and steem becoming a brand name in Ghana.
