The rehearsing of the national anthem and the pledge of Ghana ahead of Independence Day
Hello everyone. You are welcome to visit my other post on Steem Ghana. I am very happy to share this post with the community as we are approaching another independence anniversary of Ghana.
The independence anniversary is an annualized celebration by the good people of Ghana. This day, 6th march mark the day Ghana gain independence from our colonial masters. As we are left with weeks ahead of the celebration day, it is good to be fit for this day.
This is going to be the 66th anniversary celebration by the people of Ghana. The event is held at the various town centers in the various regions. On this day, various dignitaries are invited to witness the celebration.
Also, various schools, governmental organizations, and chiefs are present at the event grounds as it is so honorable for everyone to be a Ghanaian. Cultural dances and displays are shown on the event ground, which is to make the celebration interesting and a memorable one.
Many of our past educated citizens, such as Osagyefo, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and many others, fought for Ghana to gain independence from the British. It was 1956 on the 6th day of March when they had a victory over the colonizers to announce Ghana as an independent country.
Ghana was called the Gold Coast at the time under the control of our colonial masters, as Ghana is one of the countries with a rich natural resource, gold. Many citizens of Ghana also participated in the slave trade by selling them to other whites to send them to their farms to work for them.
It was on this day that the slave butter trade and illegal extraction of our natural resources such as gold, bauxite, diamonds and others were stopped. Ghana was happy to gain independence and was also looking forward to its neighboring countries also gaining independence.
Let's sing the national pledge and anthem of our country at the event ground. Let’s remind ourselves of the national pledge and anthem of our country.
National Anthem of Ghana
###First stanza
God bless our homeland Ghana
And make our nation great and strong,
Bold to defend forever
The cause of Freedom and of Right;
Fill our hearts with true humility,
Make us cherish fearless honesty,
And help us to resist oppressors' rule
With all our will and might for evermore.
###Second stanza
Hail to thy name, O Ghana,
To thee we make our solemn vow:
Steadfast to build together
A nation strong in Unity;
With our gifts of mind and strength of arm,
Whether night or day, in the midst of storm,
𝄆 In every need, whate'er the call may be,
To serve thee, Ghana, now and for evermore. 𝄇
###Third stanza
Raise high the flag of Ghana
and one with Africa advance;
Black star of hope and honour
To all who thirst for liberty;
Where the banner of Ghana freely flies,
May the way to freedom truly lie;
𝄆 Arise, arise, O sons of Ghana land,
And under God march on for evermore! 𝄇
