The Diary Game: 22/04/2021 - A Surprise Birthday Party for Me

It is another beautiful day today and I'm here to tell you about my day with all the exhilaration and fun that is still running through my system even as I come to you today. Before I move on let me wish myself a Happy Belated Birthday and a great year to come and to all steemians who extended their birthday wishes to me on WhatsApp I am very much grateful.

I began my day quite early, as early as 3 am, I was up to upload my images on WhatsApp status to wish myself and happy birthday and offer a prayer for myself. Shortly after this I dozed off again and woke up around 8:30 am. I still had work to attend to and so I got a shower, got dressed up, and left for work.

My plan initially was to spend the day with my girl after work and then retire to bed later in the evening or visit my family at home so that they may be able to pray for me which has been kinda the tradition over the years. Later in the afternoon, my girlfriend came around to my workplace, to pass through and wish me a happy birthday, she then asked that she had to go do some little stuff and would catch up later with me in the after.

I closed quite early from work, around 2:30 pm because she wanted my help in securing a cake for her mummy's client who ordered from her, all this while I had no idea that she could have been planning anything at all for my day, I was just thinking that it is going to be like any other normal day or birthday I have celebrated. When we got the cake we visited her mum and she gave us some additional cakes to bring to campus for the client.

On our way back my girl informed me that we were going to have some fun so I shouldn't worry, by this time I had loads of WhatsApp messages or wishes to reply to, so I was just having fun on social media, taking pictures and videos and posting on my status. Later in the evening, we got back to campus and she was like we should get one of our friends and go to the mall to go and eat something to celebrate the day.

And so we went, we got there only to find out that a birthday party had been planned for me all along and that my colleague teaching assistants and friends were already there waiting, I was greeted with a saxophone play of a happy birthday song after which we had series of fun, prayers, blessings, eating, dancing and the cake which I thought was to be delivered to a client turned out to be mine and I ended up cutting it.

It was the first time I have had something like this happen to me and I was so astounded as I was exhilarated and appreciative. Most of the evening and a greater portion of the night were spent having fun which is one of the reasons why I couldn't share the day with you right away. Nonetheless, that was how my unprecedented birthday surprise turn out to be amazing and how I ended up having so much fun during this birthday celebration.

I am happy that God has brought me thus far and I am happy to know that I have loads of loved ones both on and off the blockchain that care for me.
