What Everyone is Missing |SOCIAL CAPITAL| Find out what it is!

First time I heard the term Social Capital, I was surprised. This is because I thought I understood the word social and capital properly and combining the two didn't make much of a sense to me. I believe you might be feeling the same too.

However, after I listened to the explanation, I realized that it made made a lot of sense.

Many people in our Country today are suffering due to lack of this capital "Social Capital." Some people have financial capital and other assets as capital but lack the social capital and that's the missing link.

SOCIAL CAPITAL

is simply the weight or value of the Calibre of people in your closest circle and their ability to have a positive impact on your life. These people may have the ability to connect you to relevant opportunities that can transform your life completely.

Unfortunately, this is the kind of capital most of us lack. Some people even are very lucky to build some of these networks but they end up destroying or not paying attention to building this social Capital due to their lack of knowledge about the importance of it.

A friend I know, who is closer to one prominent person in Ghana mentioned once to me that there are a lot of Jobs in Ghana even in the midst of of all the unemployment saga among the youth.

I enquired and he said that, "the big men" have a lot of job chances and opportunities but they don't know who to trust or who to even consider as having the requisite character to be able to work for them. Imagine that you're closer to such a "big man" and he knows you're capable of handling a job opportunity, don't you think he's going to give it out to you?

Imagine that you've become the president of the country and you need to appoint reliable and trustworthy people to occupy positions in the country. I believe you'll end up choosing people "you know" and can testify that they are good to occupy such positions.
That is how social capital works. When you build a strong social capital, there are unlimited opportunities awaiting.

Social Capital is the real deal now and the youth must know, build and sustain such a Capital to reap the best benefits out of it.
