The Diary Game 18/12/2020 : Update on steemit meetup held in Kumasi, Ghana.

Introduction
A feeling l would never trade for any other thing is the joy and excitement that meetups come with. It is a moment we demonstrate to the world the significance of blockchain technology in our days. Among the many feelings that people have always shared is knowing me knowing you aspect. Of course, meetups help us to identify people around us which we have communicated with over some time but never had the opportunity to meet in person. I share great joy and excitement through this post about the great moment that was shared with friends and families. A successful meetup was helpful today which l could not afford to miss. This meeting had been planned weeks ago after which preparations had been made to meet this great day. The core motive of this meetup was to reactivate the steemghana community and to empower members to get on board with the blockchain activity which will then raise the community to a greater milestone.

Let me express profound gratitude to @curator1 @curator4 @bleepcoin @ackza and leaders of the @steem-ghana community who through their enormous effort and guidance led to the success story that has written today. The very last time a meetup was organized here in Ghana was held at Kumasi again which featured about 50 steemians including newbies that were present that day. Every present member was thrilled to be part of the steemit family. I must say today's joy is no exception. Today's meetup is recorded as one of the best meetups that have been held here in Ghana.

The Meeting

The meeting commenced at 12:35 pm when the place got set to welcome members. The many flyers that were printed got laid on the tables that were made available for the meeting. However, the only challenge that we had was people reporting late which dragged the meeting to an extended time much more than we thought. But the late arrival of some members never disrupted plans that were made to make things happen. The presence of @njaywan and @nattybongo really helped in ensuring all preparations fully made to serve every member who was attending.

We hopefully began with the meeting with a word of prayer offered to us by @nattybongo after which @mcsamm coordinated the entire meetup. It featured a lot of exciting talks by members like @anaman @oppongk @njaywan and @nattybongo. Members were however allowed to share their experiences since their existence on the steem blockchain where @zicodee started with the ups and downs he's had since he joined the platform This session of our meeting empowered the newbies that have had challenges with posting on the platform.

Lecture Series
Similarly, the various experiences that were shared today were intended to advise and motivate the newbies that were present today at this meetup. Consequently, @yawgh who has to be on the steem platform for a longer time added his voice by asking members to increase their interest in reading so as o help them write more quality content. This was one of the few pieces of advice that l got from @tj4real when l first joined the steemit ecosystem. It is true and with no doubt that, most people find their way on the blockchain with an intention of just making money. But things work the other way. Identifying one's niche and working harder on them is the key to survive here on the blockchain.

  new members who joined the meetup

These words were needed to feed ourselves today ones we have agreed to make our community a better one. The presence of the old steemians in the game certainly motivated the few ones who joined months ago. This is an exercise l would want us to continually have done to learn more to do more. It was beautiful to have some invited people among us today who accepted to join the steemit blockchain after the series of lectures that were delivered by members during the meetup. We hope to get them signed up tonight to have them joined the steemghana community. Their details were collected and arrangements made for their accounts to be created as soon as possible.

The few members that got an invitation to join today's meeting were ROSE, PRISCILLA, JOYCE, EUNICE, PAMELA, and LOIS which constituted six(6) newbies in all.

Among the plans that were made to meet today was the production of steemit T-shirt. It was agreed for members to personally purchase the printed shirts for this meetup which was not going to cost them so much. Let me commend @anaman for his generosity. It was surprising to know that @anaman paid for everyone who made himself available for this meetup including the 6 new members who joined. This is the love that the blockchain community has thought some of us to demonstrate. Indeed we looked really pretty in our various steemit shirts when found outside taking photos. The day was filled with so much joy seeing members interacting so well with the new friends that joined the meetup. I feel so much proud to belong to a blockchain community that is much bigger than a social media platform. We are a family of great vision and see the blockchain as the new world.

Closure

The meetup gradually neared a closure after which we assembled outside for photography. All was over and done by 3:48 pm when we got arranged for vehicles to take everyone to their various destination safely. Beauty and joy are all l can say today brought me. And the new great ideas that were shared are more than enough to make members get better. We hope to get our new six members signed up today to join our community to spread the love of steem to others as well. In all, we express so much gratitude to everyone through the support and effort in any way to make today's meetup memorable. It was a pleasant and lovely experience to celebrate.
