Remember To Power Up Today

It has being an exhaustive day and steeming has made me stay more at home today. It is actually raining in our parts and rainy seasons always have this sign. Most times, I sit to ponder on the journey of life so far, and these are some of the times at the second cycles school and the experiences that shaped me.

I guess you are all doing wonderful as I am doing over here. It is with such delight to be here today and share with you about an open topic that has come to mind this evening about my life.

Indeed, life has turns and one has to enjoy all the seasons of life. The good side, the bad side and the ugly. Times at the second cycle institution is where I got to learn a whole lot of things. I got to learn how to relate with people and know how things work with them. Languages had to be accommodated there because it was teaching me how to be tolerant.

With My colleagues During School Days

Back at home, I did whatever I liked at anytime but at the SHS, one has to eat what was on the menu list. This taught me to be very strong and poised. One can't be a weak person in a boys' school. You really must be strong. If you are not at table on time then you should be ready to sleep hungry. This taught me to be time conscious.

At times, the school had no water which students would use to bath. We went to class without bathing and in most times, places to ease ourselves were a problem. So one could imagine what would happen in the classroom. Teachers we had used to complain about the odour that emanated from the rooms.

Waking up at down and scrubbing the bathroom floor which were concrete with dirt and sometimes faeces. At times, I rethink about the past and the moments I've passed through. I can't chase the past away. It rings so deep in me and they have concrete formations. This actually has taught me to maintain hygiene in my home and wherever I go.

A picture I took At My SHS Days

I very well remember the house prefect we had. I would say he was inhumane, but this his behaviors has made me who I am today. I am a fighter. A person with vision and foresight. A person who never fears battles and storms. His beatings made me know how to persist and endure.

The greatest of all I learnt was that, if God steers the wheel, one will never fail. I was always in class at midnight and before I would learn, I always take my small new testament Bible and read. I sneaked to the classroom most times to learn. This is because, my mother's advise kept on ringing in my ears. They were the good words that directed my path always. She will always end by saying "remember where you come from".

That my Ghanaian language teacher who always will tell me to keep fighting. He took me as a son, because I was very small and gullible. He guided me and up till today, his teachings are here with me. He will always tell the rest of the teachers to always check on me.

This life, a lot of people come our way and these people force us to always do the right thing. At times, we think they are a burden and we become angry at them, but when their absence comes, we remember their relevance.

These are all part the seasons of life. One has to go through all. A take on my second cycle schooling.

Thank you for your time.

Best Regards
