For today we would be discussing some of the benefits of wearing glasses and thus the reasons why you should wear your glasses if your Optometrist has prescribed one for you or the need to get your eyes checked and possibly get yourself some nice protective eye wear.

Introduction

Glasses or Spectacles as may rightly be referred are specially designed lenses fitted into frames for use by individuals for the purpose of aesthetics, refractive error correction, binocular vision anomalies correction, and protection. There are many reasons why your Optometrist may prescribe lenses for you. For adults 40 years and over, you may be given lenses to help you read and to support your accommodation.

This same kind of prescription may be given to a young adult who may be having accommodative insufficiency which is a binocular vision anomaly. As already mentioned your Optometrist has a reason for giving you glasses to wear and so to help yourself it is important that you wear them to make things better for you, whatever your problem may be.

The difficulties we sometimes face as health practitioners when we prescribe some of these lenses is the fact that patients do not get to fully understand why they have been given what they have been given to wear and whiles we may be thinking our explanations are enough, it may not be. It such instance, we encourage you, our dear patient or reader to make effort to ask for more information and it would duly be made available to you. A compliant patient is one who understands their condition

Benefits of Wearing Your Prescription

The beauty of technology has made it such that every now and then there is an improvement in various sectors of health and eye care is not exception. Tech has made is possible such that in our modern day, glasses does a whole lot for individuals that we sometimes acknowledge.

  • Protection

Most Glasses are now fitted with UV rays protection, if you are lucky to have it effectivity at 100% then your eyes get the full benefit when you wear them. And on a sunny day you eyes are safe from all the harmful rays that may be roaming about in the atmostphere.

Great education.

But from what I’ve heard from people with glasses, it seems when you start wearing it you can’t do away with it.

How they is that?

Great price by de way

Hello @pandev,

Thanks for reading and for your time.

With regards to your question, we believe this falls under the category of eye myths and that one has nothing to worry about wearing or stopping lens wear.
