A Ghanaian Movie I have watched Before: Away Bus

First and foremost, I would like to thank @rubilu123 for organizing such a wonderful contest and big ups to steem ghana for hosting it. This is a great opportunity for to read about the many Ghanaian movies most us haven’t watched and I believe lessons would learnt at the end of this contest. The movie I’m going to write about goes by the title away bus.

Aunty Muni is a mother of two daughters who have made life uneasy for her and finds herself in her old age. She does strive day in day out to make sure her daughters do not go astray. One of daughters called Kiki is mechanic and Bibi who’s a hairdresser. Aunty muni is a waakye seller, while selling her in the morning, her daughter Bibi rampages in front of her at her usual joint of wish she was left in shock. Chasing her was a group of young men who claimed Bibi had beaten heir senior brother. Aunty Muni stopped the young men and inquired why her daughter being chased and they told her what happened, she couldn’t believe considering the strength and size of their senior brother. She traumatized by the incident.
She finished selling her waakye and headed home. While at home, her other daughter comes in while crying (the mechanic). She asked what happened and she explained. According to her, they were playing cards of which she won and wanted to opt out and the guys did not agree so they beat her and took her money. To her surprise, Bibi says lets go there I’ll handle it. Aunty Muni begs them not to go, she even goes her knees and they disobeyed her. Just after they took off, she fell and fainted. She was rushed to the hospital and to the doctor the fall affected her ribs and a sum of 20000.00 Ghanaian cedis would be needed to cure her and they had to raise the money within 10 hours.
This was a difficult moment for them as they didn’t have such money and don’t know how to get it. The daughters approached their pastor and he couldn’t help them. Their uncle who had a grudge with their mom also turned them down. They were left with no options. They beseeched the help of a childhood friend who had nothing to offer but a malicious plan. Their friend who is so dear to Aunty muni proposed a bus robbery. Given the the limited options they had, they agreed to it. So they planned decided to carry on the mission. It was a success and they had the unfortunately it was too late to save their mother as time wasn’t on their side. She passed away before they reached the hospital, it was devastating situation them.
One major lesson I will entreat everyone to take from this is that, we should obey our parents and accord them the maximum respect they deserve. Especially our mothers. Allah tells us in the Qur’an that heaven lies at the fee of our mothers hence we have to obey and respect them at all times. As we can all see, they lost their mum due to the fact that they didn’t obey her which led to her fall and eventually resulted in her death.
