Hello friends,

My topic today on personal financial tips is about the spending habit we should cultivate as financial literates. One might wonder how can I even spend more than I earn?, how can I spend the money I don't have? Because of the lack of answers to these questions, we end up actually spending more than we earn which create a certain embargo on our financial freedom. In this post, I will try my possible best to bring to light some of the ways and solutions to manage this problem.

By the way I believe everyone is doing well and the week was great as well and we are making more money 🤠.

In today's world made up of both conventional money and e - money, it is very easy to spend your future money. You can finish your pay even before it drops in your bank account, you can lavish yourself with a certain type of life style which is beyond your means or what you earn hence you have to always tap into your future monies through loans and debt to augment your unnecessary spending. It becomes a habit that you don't even know or realize that you are spending more than you earn, you will be financially stuck in a circle of always paying off debt and creating new ones🥱.

Some of the practices that can help you plan and track your spending inorder to check unnecessary spending are;

  • Draw a budget at the beginning of the month.

  • Try as much as possible to stop unnecessary and unplanned spending.

The main purpose of drawing a budget for your spending is to help you plan, organized, track and improve your spending. With a budget, you are able to plan your spending with a specific amount and any overspending will be noted and tracked, this way, you can improve your spending by making sure to make some adjustments to fit your income.

I know that at times we are caught in a situation where we have no option but have to buy certain things without planning, example, paying hospital bills, buying food etc. But some spending habits of buying certain things which are quite expensive but not plan for should be stopped. Some of us can't get pass anything buyable, we want every good thing, from foods to materials, we want to buy everything nice and attractive even when our need for it is not important. Let's try to minimize unplanned buying.

Excellent tips for the average Ghanian to survive to tough conditions in the country. Drawing a badget and spending exactly that or even if possible below that can definitely cause one to be successful.

Just as you said, do not spend beyond what you earned and I will even say do not spend beyond 70% of what you earned.
