THE DIARY GAME- (30/09/2021): FAMILY PLANNING AWARENESS

Hello guys.
I hope your day went well. I feel so excited and happy to get connected with you all today.
Today was a very wonderful day at the Ward K community in Tamale as the women in the neighborhood had a visit from the United Nations Family Planning Agency(UNFPA) .
As part of the outreach programs of the Agency, they usually visit communities to have a talk with them about safe family planning methods, the advantages of family planning and facilities where they could access it.

The Agency came along with students from the Tamale Technical University and the Community Nursing and Midwifery School. Some of us from the Ward K Health Center were also invited to witness the event.

AT THE GROUNDS WHERE THE EVENT TOOK PLACE

After the main event, we partitioned our selves into groups and went into various households in the community to educate them on the need for family planning.

It was such an exciting moment as most of the people payed heed to the education we gave them and promised that they will have family planning as and when they have to.

Another way of spreading the good news was with the T-Shirts we were given to wear. For some of the members of the community who could read, wearing a T-Shirt with a write up about family planning was one of the best ways to educate them about it.

We also carried along a bannaer that explained almost all the methods of family planning. So for every house we got to, we explained each of the methods to them.
I was able to take a picture of the banner so as to share with you all for you to also benefit from the program.
