the story is set in the fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama, and is narrated by jean Louise, also called Scout Finch, a six to nine year old Tom boy who lives with her father Atticus who's a lawyer, and her ten year old brother jem, her father takes the case of black man 'Tom Robinson' who is wrongly accused of raping a white woman 'Mayella Ewell' since the town is mostly racist Atticus has little hope of winning, Young scout sees the trial develop and has to face a number of consequences of trial at such little age, the title of book thus refers to a loss of innocence

My favorite character in this book was :

Scout was my favorite character which is also the main character, not only due to her bravery, but it is also represented in the boom that she is quite intellectual and mature beyond her years her character development as she learns patience, tolerance and empathy from her father is quite amazing.

I liked / didn't like this book because:

i really like this book, as i found its plot to be quite bold, especially since the protagonist are children, seeing a trial addressing such a heinous crime and its traumatic consequences going through the girl's eyes isn't something many books offer, not many writer would find a courage to pen a book with such a theme, also this book targets racism and condemns it in a way by elaborating upon its negative aspects through the storyline

you should/shouldn't read this book because :

you should read this book because of its uniqueness, book also offers a well defined plot and fleshed out characters, as well as great overall development, it's captivating as well as keep you at the edge of your seat, and your eyes glued to the pages, emotional aspects of book are also notable characteristic of it!
