A bitter remedy
An interstellar ship is drawn to the planet by an electromagnetic pulse received from a time capsule. It's about to open. Its blood-red and emerald-green rings disband like a coupling spiral, revealing a small light that descends through the sky-blue portal that contrasts with the tones of the space in which it lands.
There is supposed to be a lot of expectation in the last humans confined to the base near where the ship landed, who sent space probes asking for help from the universe. Especially after the latest mutations of the virus that threatened to wipe out life on Earth. Covid-19 has mutated so many times that it already attacks the defenses of any living species. Death is strutting around, becoming a bitter remedy for the virus.
The moon and the sun compete to be witnesses of this unprecedented event and both look out at a sky confused between day and night with yellow glares on a dark background that, like an embroidered tapestry of stars, shows different shades of blue in a cold welcome that reveals no life nearby, as the few survivors are supposed to remain cloistered in airtight bases and are not known to us.
(End of 5 minutes)
When the rings are opened, all that appears is a kind of circular, very bright life form, looking at the remains of a base similar to the body of the interstellar ship. As if they were two pieces of the same divided mother ship: one that traveled who knows how long ago and another that was left waiting for answers.
Now, that someone or something returned, there was not the required coupling, but a mismatch by meters. It is not yet known whether this was accidental or premeditated. But what is evident from the image captured, recorded and transmitted to the rest of the galaxy is that no one here met anyone.
Perhaps nothing is left alive or the beings resulting from the genetic mutation of the virus are studying how to attack what comes down the platform of the ship and what they do not know is that it is a rainbow hologram that, although initially visualized as white light, is presented as a persuasive element of falsification, maintaining the three-dimensional character of the image when the eye of the viewer moves horizontally.
From the command center of this universal base, we hope that it is not too late to rescue healthy human specimens, because, at first glance, only the distant stars are seen shining.
