"We are all travelers
in one way or another
in search of a truth,
a light that will lead us in
our quest.
Adventures that will fill you,
our spirit and soul.
An exploration beyond
what can ever be imagined."
Recap
And while I was sitting in that restaurant, something very extraordinary happened for my inexperience with Thailand at the time...
So I sat in the restaurant right on Khao San Road and enjoyed my meal, traditional Thai food, rice with pork, vegetables and a hot meat broth. Delicious.
I had finished eating when I noticed two lovely ladies chatting animatedly at a next table. One of them looked at me and smiled,
What a smile...
And suddenly I knew why Thailand is also called the Land Of Smiles. The other of the two said goodbye to her friend shortly afterwards and then sat alone at the table. Our eyes met again and again until I signaled her to come to my table.
Lek
her name was Lek.
And I was a little bit speechless.
But then I caught myself straight away and we started a casual conversation. Among other things, I asked her where she lived, then Lek answered:
"I'm from Vientianne, Laos."
Laos. Ok. 😅
Again I was somewhat perplexed. In the first few hours in Thailand I get to know a Lao woman, well that starts off well with Thailand.
We got along very well straight away and after I had paid, we strolled through Khao San Road for a while. At some point I said I wanted to go back to my hotel and Lek looked at me sadly with her beautiful dark brown, almost black eyes. I asked her if she wanted to come with me and her face lit up like the morning sun. So we made our way to my hotel, which was several hundred meters away.
Suddenly Lek stopped and led me to a street food stand.
They sold fried insects there.
Insects
Oh my God!
Lek bought some mixed, locusts and fat maggots. They had a lot of different species to choose from, cockroaches, flies, worms and also scorpions, so their selection was quite okay. On the way to the hotel I kept thinking about whether to eat or not, to eat or not. Since I knew that turning down an invitation, especially for dinner, is almost an affront, I decided to at least try it.
We arrived at the hotel, sat down on the bed and there was this plate of insects on the small table in front of us.
Lek looks at me and smiles.
I smiled back a little tensely. She took a grasshopper in her hand, tore off its legs - you don't eat them - and then gave it to me. Now the legless grasshopper was in my hand. I looked at it, the grasshopper. I bravely put it in my mouth and started chewing, I didn't want to see the expression on my face at that moment, Lek smiled at me. Then I realized, this thing in my mouth doesn't taste so bad. Then I took a maggot and shoved it into my mouth. Nutty taste with roasted aromas spread in my mouth, really yummy. That was the day in my life when insects became my favorite snack.
But something else was about to change fundamentally in my life that day.
We had SEX
My first sex with an Asian woman was in Thailand with a Lao woman! That's something and it did something to me, but more about that in the next episode of my
