Scary butterfly

You may know them as winged insects that look like butterflies. Although less well known than butterflies, moths live all around us and have many uses for humans.

At first glance, moths and butterflies have very similar appearances. These two types of animals actually come from the same order, namely Lepidoptera, so they have a lot in common.But there are some things that make them different.

For example, butterflies are usually active during the day, while moths are at night.When perching, butterflies usually close their wings together.
Whereas moths perch with their wings open, so that the features of their wings are clearly visible.In addition,butterflies usually have thin antennae, whereas moth antennae are generally thicker.

Moths play an important role in the sustainability of the ecosystem around us.Their large numbers make them important to insectivorous animals such as bats and lizards. And even in the form of caterpillars they become an important source of nutrition for birds.
