Playing Photographer #6 : Roads in Uyo Metropolis
Someone once asked a quiz, and he said “what a rope that never ends?” The simple answer to this quiz is ROAD. This long rope called road has been in existence since pre historic times where our ancestors pave a little passage through a thick forest for the purpose of easy movement and trace back. As time went on, those little passages were widened to accommodate two people. Currently, the road has reached an extent on accommodating vehicles, human beings and other elements. So, let’s get into the details of various roads in my city.
ORON ROAD |
---|
When it comes to Uyo Metropolis, one can say that it is one of the longest roads which have the ability of splitting into different networks. This road begins at the end of Ibom Plaza to the Airport road and beyond. The beyond here defines that I haven’t gone more than airport road but it still continues probably to the nearby local government area. The current pinpoint location I snapped was Timber junction. The name is derived from the Timber market which is nearby. Both day and night, this junction is usually active with vehicles, passersby, buyers, sellers and other categories. Before the double service lanes were created, this junction was usually oppressed with traffic jams because of its activeness.
RING ROAD 3 |
---|
This is one of the newly built road networks in Uyo Metropolis. This road spans through Nung Oku junction to Nwaniba junction. Its center passes through Oron Road which encircles itself as a water fountain roundabout. Apart from Edet Akpan Avenue which is four lanes, this is another four lanes in the Uyo metropolis. It’s truly a wonder of art and architecture.
NWANIBA ROAD |
---|
Another popular road in the metropolis of Uyo is Nwaniba Road. As I said earlier, one can access this road from Ring road 3. This particular pinned location is near the University of Uyo, Main Campus. I guess this is one of the reasons that led to the popularity of this road. Students, lecturers and other individuals visit this Campus on a daily basis and this is its route.
In general, I’ll say that these 3 roads are connected to each other. I guess that’s why it’s called a rope that never ends.
I invite @bossj23, @nsijoro and @pandora2010 to the contest.
