RE: Talk Channel: "Comment or ask a question"/ Comente o pregunte (week 269) in the WOX
To me images don't play a huge role unless it's an artistic entry. I don't need pictures if I read a long text or poetry I find it disturbing especially if the pictures are a collection form everywhere and are added every few lines. in average 5 pictures asked by many hostst of contests is way too much for the short text.
I rather don't share photos/pictures since it takes me a lot of time to upload them and just that picture and markdowns take me longer than writing itself. Sometimes I share my own photo's other times pixabay or a youtube video it depends on the text. For a while I only used a picture with one word which I find enough.
All those pictures is also a long way scrolling to the top or the bottom which is makes it harder to find a certain part of text or to upvote or find that reply button.
Same for this post by the way, I have to scroll up to see what the questions are again.
Is there a reason you add twice such a big picture to promote @xpilar and next steemworld and so on? It's hard to find the questions/text.
Emojis? The first time I heard about it was on Steemit and there was a contest hosted by @marblely where we should write a post by using mainly emojis which took me nearly the entire Saturday!
I don't use them much just the heart and green clover most of the times but it also depends on whom I talking to and if in more a hurry because it takes time to load them and next add them in the comment section. Is it appreciated?
Would I write entire texts while using emojis? Not really, it's not me, it also makes text more chaotic for me to read. At times it helps to understand a mood but in many cases I also don't understand why a certain emoji is used which means there's still a misunderstanding.
I takes me time to puzzle which will be my first, preferably 4 hashtags, I try to point it out to others but it feels at a lost battle at forehand. I am tires of repeating the same story over and over again and if it comes to it no once gives a damn. The worst posts, with the worst grammar and hashtag abuse are upvoted so the point of using the right hashtags is? I would say promoting Steemit but Steemit itself doesn't care except for the hashtag #steeexclusive everyone can lie about and SC01 and 02 could check but most likely won't. This means I will continue my journey for me and see how I can make myself visible and if Steemit has profit from it that's great for them. I don't expect any change also not now the links of communities are changed into names.
If you have a link with the latest news about hashtags please share it with me, thank you.
Greetings friend wakeupkitty.
Images in some cases should only be a complement, I have not seen a writer who likes images, they just like to write, write and write while imagining the scenarios; from my point of view, not all readers have that ability to imagine a scenario, therefore, images can open that world that the writer transmits.
I clearly remember those contests of the CCC community, I think I needed about 20 hours to get the post, at that time I placed emojis using codes, believing that it was the only way to publish them.
I think that the usefulness of hashtags has been historically underestimated in Steemit, it has always been used to follow a specific line of content, and not for the content to be displayed in search engines. All of this has been detected after the different promotion strategies of the platform, we hope that a culture or custom of using useful hashtags will be formed.
I appreciate your presence on this channel.
