💬 Promoting WOX's Top Commenters - Supporting Steemit's Vision Week #2
Where has the week gone? I was all prepared to share Thursday's update then BAM! It's Friday.
Since the launch of our initiative last week, there has been a noticeable increase in comments and discussion within the WOX community so a big thank you to all of you for making this happen.
As with all new initiatives, it will adapt as we continue to learn and in preparation for announcing Week #2's top commenters, it became apparent that the posts I was reviewing (posts the have paid out in the previous 7 days) hadn't seen the benefits of the increase in comments which the posts following the announcement have seen.
So following a quick discussion with the WOX moderation team, we've decided that the delegation duration will be increased to 2 weeks and will stay with @petface (1,000 Steem), @steem-venera (500 Steem) and @serap (500 Steem) for an additional week.
On a personal level, the reaction to this initiative (albeit it's only been 1 week) has been very satisfying - in particular, seeing our Top Commenters come together for some of the longest conversations I've ever seen on this platform!

Thank you ever so much @heribertor 👏 I see that you are working hard and contributing even more than once a day! I was also on @bambuka's Diving Programme when I just started here in WOX so I advise you to make the most of it and of course enjoy every minute of it! You mistook tagging the organiser of the project by translating his screen name to Spanish but I'm sure he will not miss your comment anyway 🙂

You're more than welcome! Let's not forget that the delegation can be extended if you're nailing it. I am speaking from experience as it actually was extended for myself when I was part of the Diving Programme. I ended up hiking mountains and getting sunburnt on beach walks always caring my backpack with the laptop in to keep it gong. It is certainly awesome to be devoted and show your very best just because you never know when you will get another chance to.

Thanks to everybody taking part - it's one thing to have an idea that you think is good, and quite another for it to be embraced by the community. 🤞 Fingers crossed it's a permanent change.
Morning @the-gorilla Time flies indeed. Thank you for keeping us on the job for another week! Long live the Queen 👸It will certainly keep me busy this wet weekend. Well done us all @steem-venera and @serap #dreamteam 👏 I think it is great to add more 💬 labels to users as this way we will spread the word about this initiative more quickly. All members having the label would be sort of advertising being a top commenter which many would respect and find appealing so would encourage them to also comment. I used to have a colleague who wanted just his job title upgraded so the suppliers take him more seriously when negotiating. It actually worked and he managed to get lots more done on his own. So I reckon labels would make a difference here in WOX too especially when you are just getting to know the other person and find your way in the community.
I think so too but I want it to be meaningful so that when you are awarded it, it feels special.
This is some strange psychology in bigger businesses - people want to think they're talking to somebody important so a "Director" is better to talk to than a "Head of" than a "Manager". The 1st place I worked, the job titles got so stupid that somebody with about 1 year's experience would be the "Global Head of"...
I am lucky to know how that feels actually 💁♀️ Even extra special I would say as I'm now awarded with the label for another week! What l decided to focus on for my bonus week is reading and of course commenting on posts of members I haven't interacted with as of yet. I would go by recent posts, not just by people who entered contests or those who got noticed already and their posts now appear under trending. I think that's fair and I hope I will make it better for even more of the WOX members by supporting them and drawing some more attention to their posts.
Strange exactly 😂 I've witnessed the very opposite too, every girl in the call centre being Ana and every guy Peter from 9 till 5:30pm 🤣 So good luck trying to get hold of the person you spoke to before.

Thank you very much for your work and thank you again for leaving us for another week as Chief Commentators. We will try to justify your trust. Although, I think that the competition will start even stronger.
It certainly has already - I will feel very mean when the delegations need to move to different users and I hope that it's not demotivating when it happens ☹️
Here is where keeping labels could work. Maybe "Top commenter" + delegation for the first three, and "Commenter (team), (brigade), (elite), (conclave)..." (or other) for whom have been in the top at least once and stays in the first 10-15. What do you think? :)
I like it. My initial thought was that those with delegations get the "💬 Top commenter" and every other good commenter gets a "💬" label. I'll let my subconscious work on some ideas 💭
Hi, what nice news 🤗 First of all, I'm very happy that our top commenter title and SP continued. I am also happy on behalf of the other commentators @petface, @steem-venera who contributed. We have a nice atmosphere of friendship between us. The increase in comments shows that this initiative bears fruit. This result was predicted, but it is a great success to be achieved in 1 week 👍 Meeting in the comments creates a bond. Other content produced by the person we are chatting with arouses our curiosity or we are curious about their ideas. That's why we follow each other and friendship is formed between us. In this case, creates a real conversation and communication. In other words, as a result of this initiative increasing the interpretation, it also directly creates making friends among the authors 😊
It's a great observation about all the communication phenomenon, which certainly in this platform is always bringing discussion and many reflections about social, economic and human aspects. It's always better when those elements that you have mentioned take relevance in our travel in Steem!!

That's a really nice way of describing how we interact with one another @serap We did bond indeed and the friendship and support we have for each other will certainly continue. It is very exciting for me to have the chance to get to know you and I love how passionate you are about art and the platform. Makes two of us. There is so much out here in WOX in terms of content which now more than ever I do my best to familiarise myself with so I am really glad that I am a part of this initiative. It did broadened my horizon indeed and that's just the start of it.

It's a great initiative... engagement is typically what drives the longevity of communities.
And I'm extra glad to see @petface on your list — she's definitely one of the most worthy (relative) newcomers we have and she has the potential to go really far here.
When I first looked into the comments within WoX, I was really surprised by the lack of engagement (with the exception of interaction with moderators) and I must confess, somewhat disappointed - many comments didn't even receive replies. As stef1 pointed out at the time, not everybody joins for the interaction, many see it as a source of income for the content they're already producing. But if we can bring those users that like to comment together, I think they'll be here for longer and entice others to do the same.
