Pencil drawing, New Competition (No.64) | 100% charcoal
Hello steemians and my fellow artist/creative minds in @worldofxpilar how is the weather over there? As for Akwa Ibom or let me say Uyo precisely it's Windy, dry and cold in the morning but very hot at noon. We call it "harmattan" season just like Autumn in America and Canada. It is common down here in West Africa. We are in a new year.
Okay let me get down to the business of the day. I'm here to present my most recent realistic charcoal pencil portrait of my recent commission piece I did for my Friend which was commissioned by my friend Daramfon Sapiens.
The drawing is one of my best portrait of the year.
I have other drawings that are waiting. I will share them here this month. Just stay tuned. Enjoy the progress shots and never fail to leave a comment telling me how it looks. Thanks.
I must confess I did this drawing on October while it was still raining heavily in Nigeria. I always shoot my works with natural light, which is the sun. but it's unfortunate, due to the heavy down pour I couldn't take pictures of the progress shots of this work. I am an active member here and my works always carry my autograph Tempest Art. You can zoom the framed work to see it at the right hand corner. please don't pass me by. I will post with progress shots next time because it's not raining anymore in this January.

Here are the steps on how I did the portrait. I drew my grid lines and made my sketch then started shading it gradually. Starting from the eyes, hair down to her face and to the whole work which includes the neck and her cloth.
I made sure I did a very good detailing for a clean finishing.

Thank you so much bro. She was really impressed by the outcome.
I appreciate your words of encouragement.
Thanks again.
You welcome 🙏 I do draw more detail works too but I just do rough sketches here just to be consistent and keep my hands flexible because I haven’t really had much time to draw or paint
