RE: On a fishing trip with my brother @hingsten 🐟
Hi @xpilar, it is beautiful post, immediately caught my attention. Luckily you have warm and sunny days over there and as such going out with boat and your brother must have reminded you the time of being children.
It seems you were lucky with fishing especially if you were so successful. By the way, how do you do the fish cake do you use mixer to make to soft consistency. Also is mackerel has many little bones?
Thank you for sharing, really enjoyed it!
PS: just noticed that you mentioned the boat from 1937, it is in a great condition, also nice to learn that @hingsten is your brother :)
Yes, the boat is from 1937 and is in good condition and I love the sound of the engine.
I fillet the mackerel and then most of the bones are gone, after that I remove the rest of the bones from the fillets. Then they are ready to be put through a grinder. In Farsen I add salt, pepper and a little potato flour.
I separate the stuffing with a little milk and they are ready to be fried.
And it tastes incredibly good and is boneless 😊
I bet you have many childhood memories and there is a component of nostalgia when you are on board. You described it so well that I could imaging even the taste, especially when fresh prepared and eaten :)
Yes, there are many childhood memories.
We were lucky enough in childhood to be able to be at the summer place by the sea that my father rented from early spring to late autumn. We learned to fish early on being on board a boat.
