RE: A scenery walk in Cambridge - Imprinted by LightCaptured
Well, I've been there once too. It's a great place, full of youthful energy, really.
I don't know if you've ever thought, I mean, if people do that when they travel, do they think about the connection they feel or don't feel with a given place, a given country, a given people. There are countries with which I feel no connection. One of them is England. Still, my visit there once was quite interesting, unforgettable, I don't regret it, but if I don't happen to go there again, I won't regret it either.
I think I understand what you mean by "no connection", culture, history, mentality of the Atlantic and Northern countries is quite different. Still, the energy there is quite strong, isn't it?
Actually, I haven't been to a very northern country, and I don't know what it's like there. I have a great connection with the German people, for example, due to a thousand circumstances, but Britain, despite the language, is very distant to me.
Still, the energy is very strong there, you're right, it's history, it's accumulated heritage, it can't be avoided. I would visit the island for the chivalric stories and such, it's something that personally appeals to me a lot, despite the distance in other ways.
Thank you and I think I understand what you're saying better now.
For me, the positive energy there is also coming from all those young minds, thirsty for knowledge and improvement ;) Tens of thousands of students, as far as I could tell.
