Antique Shops - Club100
Hello Dear Friends, I adore aesthetic vintage items that hold history and memory. Therefore, when I see an antique shop, I can't help but visit it. I photographed an antique shop that I visited and on this occasion I will tell something about antiques :)
In the past, a lot of effort was put into making things. Hand work items and natural materials were more common in the past. I spent a long time looking at these great looking gramophones. They are a complete work of art. I really like the sound of the gramophone. Popular gramophones of the past are now waiting for their fans in antique shops.
When I visit antique shops, I always come across something similar to what was at my grandparents' house. In a way, these stores mean a journey to the past and memories for me. There are many different situations in antique shops. For example, you may come across a piece you sold years ago in an antique shop years later.
At the same time, auctions are held at certain times. The first place where the auction was held in Turkey is the Balat district of Istanbul. That's why I visited Balat. Not only antiques but also old items are sold at the auction. Thus, what happened does not become garbage. This is the idea I love and support.
Every evening live auctions take place in Balat. On certain days of the week, live auctions are held online. So when you visit Balat, you will definitely come across an auction and don't miss this experience.
People who provide auction services receive a commission as a percentage in return for this service. Anyone can participate with their item for sale. Raising hands means okay in the auction. Therefore, even when you raise your hand to straighten your hair, you may mistakenly buy the product.
The price determined at the auction is announced, and there is an increase with every twitch. However, if there is no buyer at the determined price. Buyers can submit offers. This offer must be more than half of its announced price. The offered offer is consulted with the product seller, and if he accepts, the new price is announced.
In addition, if there is a damage or defect in the product, these are stated without announcing the price of the product. These things contain emotions. I think that makes them more meaningful. I feel this feeling in second-hand booksellers, too. That's why second-hand books mean a lot to me.
Some auctioneers are also cafes. Therefore, it is possible to be included in the auction while drinking tea and coffee. You can also just be a spectator, which is a great experience :)
Are antiques and auctions common in your country? Have you bought a historical object before, do you know its story or have you sold something? I ask questions because there are so many memories in antiques and there are those among us who have memories and we get a chance to listen to it :)
That antique shop looks great, I love to visit such places, on and off one can find some treasure. It looks very spacious too. Unfortunately, there is not many such shops and the items are expensive :)

Definitely, the right place to find treasure. I love visiting antique shops and viewing works more than buying. I can always find something inspiring :)
There are also many antique dealers and markets in Germany. Most of them are specialised, e.g. in art objects, technical equipment or building materials. There are also auctions, although these are increasingly moving online.
Yes, I myself like to buy second-hand and with the charm of past decades.
It's nice that there are so many antique shops :) There is a need to specialize in so many areas in antiques that it is not possible to know all of them. Usually, specific people who are experts in some specific fields are consulted about their area of expertise.
As you said, most auctions are starting to go online. This gives it a chance to appeal to larger audiences. It is very advantageous online, but I am in favor of experiencing that atmosphere face-to-face :)
Hello. What a beautiful walk through this antique store, I loved all the items, they are a great value! I haven't been able to go to an antique shop in my country, but I hope to go to one soon and show it to all users. successes.

Hello. I liked your post. I am more in the spirit of collecting old coins or non-gash stamps. I'm nominating your post for a contest. #wox-bestpick
Hi, coins and stamps are great collectibles. I used to collect coins for a while. Glad you liked my post :)
Now we are taking @serap I didn't personally know how it works if an item gets no offers. I would enjoy having a cup of coffee whilst there is an action on. I am barely attached to any material things especially large items. I was gifted a vintage brooch and I have a few pairs of earrings too. So if I get the chance I would be tempted to buy some jewellery though I am horrible at making quick decisions so I won't do great at an auction. I have attended a cocktail party at Sotheby's though and I enjoyed admiring pieces of art.
What I like the most is drinking my coffee while the auction is going on. But if there is something that interests me, coffee can instantly lose its charm :D It's great that you're not tied to things. Except for the items that I attach meaning to, I try not to get attached to them. I admire vintage brooches, they are very elegant :) As you said, even watching the works in auctions is a joy in itself :)
In my country there are certain auction sites but more than anything in the capital, however there is always someone who sells wonders in front of their houses, some have passed through generations or others are auctioneers who buy and sell, but that place you visited has wonders the vasigas, the chandeliers, the telephones, without a doubt, I would visit a place like this whenever I could, of course, and have money to buy.
Saling in front of their house sounds good, as you said great pieces can be found for generations there. Believe me, even when there is no money, it is very pleasant to visit these shops just to look at them ;)
🤗🙋♀️
Greetings @serap I love your post, I love antiques so your photos got me, I even like the walls of the place where they are displayed.
As you say, at some point some of the objects have been in my life, so yes it was a trip back in time, a good time.
My favourite was the portable record player, my mother had one, she carried it in her bag, it worked with batteries and she would take us to the park and while I played, she would lie on a bench and listen to her records, what madness!
But for me it was a happy time. Thank you my friend for sharing "dreams and happiness".
I love old antique shops so much fun to spend the day.
I agree with you, spending time in antique shops is a quality activity :)
