Dealing With Uncertainties And Changes
There are two of many things you need to understand about life. Firstly; you cannot predict what the future holds and as such, it may be full of uncertainties. Secondly, change occurs every now and then, and it is part of the proofs of the existence of humankind. Of course, you cannot stop change, neither can you remove the uncertainties of life, you can only brace up to welcome them and then turn them into your ally. The way you respond and react to changes will determine the outcome of your life, not even the changes themselves.
Observably, change is often one of the things that are heavily resisted and this is because humans are naturally resistive of what they do not know about, what they lack prior knowledge of, and what they perceive as not following a certain predefined pattern. However, you also need to know that without change, life will not even be worth living. So the main focus is not to attempt to stop changes nor trying to exclude yourself from the change but how to ride on them and achieve something great. That is having a positive response to changes instead of being negatively biased about it.
Before the advent of the computer age, who would have thought that a day will come when the whole world will be interconnected to form a global village? But now, the possibility has arisen. You cannot stop it, but you can flow with it to gain the full benefits of the computer and information age. This goes to prove that it is not the changes nor the uncertainties that determine your lot, but your reaction to them. Now one may ask how will someone respond and react well to uncertainties and to changes to make it worthwhile.
Firstly, you have to learn to be open-minded and welcome the changes as they come. Know that the world is constantly changing and as such, you will be met with changes, so be ready to welcome the new changes. Instead of fighting what you do not know, take a moment to observe it first and you will be surprised that it will actually be beneficial to you. To be open-minded also means to be ready to welcome ideas, opinions, and perspectives that are different from yours. When you are willing to welcome new and different ideas, you will not be fazed by changes, rather you will seek for how to make the most of them.
The second point is to be flexible at all times. As the world changes, so are many other trends upgraded. The format you used in the past, if you continue at it, it may not provide the required solution to the challenges that might arise. This is why you have to be flexible both in your approach and in your methods. You may have tried out a couple of things and it may not seem to be working, you do not have to keep dwelling on it. More so, you cannot keep doing the same thing in the same or near similar way and hope to have a distinctively different result. To have a different result, then you do not have to be rigid and straitjacketed to one method - try to diversify and be flexible.
The next point is to keep growing in knowledge. More often than not, the more you know, the more you are not swayed by uncertainties. Knowledge bestows one with the power to be able to navigate effectively through uncertainties. You will agree with me that you are more likely to succeed at a thing that you already have prior knowledge of than something you have zero knowledge of. So the more you gain knowledge, the better your chances of dealing with changes.
You have to understand, as I conclude, that changes are very necessary if growth will be achieved. So instead of trying to fight it and ultimately fail, it will be worthwhile to welcome it and then find a way to use it for your advantage. It is how you welcome and respond to what has happened that will determine the effect it will have on you. Also, the same thing may occur to two different people and while one may see it as a challenge, the other may see it as an opportunity. This is why your perception and reaction to changes matter more that the changes themselves.
