WILD ASPARAGUS PICKING IN IBIZA WINTER. January 2022.
Hi Steemians!
Winter in Ibiza is my favourite time and one of my favourite things is picking and then eating wild green asparagus and NOW IS THE TIME!
Today we had a lazy start to the Sunday morning and we took ourselves on a walk in our nearby Benimussa Valley.
Here are some of the images.
The grass is green, the almond blossom is at its best and the sun is shinning wonderfully, 19ºc!!!
These are the asparagus bushes we combe through that grow wild on the sides of the dirt tracks.

Tomorrow I´ll be making a green wild asparagus spanish omeltte for lunch. That might be a lovely recipe to share!
This is part of the bundle that will be going in our omelette tomorrow.
Besides Green Asparagus we also picked a lot of wild Ruccola that is lovely and tender!

yes, this part is very beautiful and wild. We also have very damaged places here. It´s a very small island and both sides are very close.

it is early, you are right! Here we usually have the abundance of asparagus for the end of February. I wonder if the season will be longer this year.
I love Ruccola and add it to many different salads and sandwiches. Beautiful country side and nice sings of spring :)

Well, here the winter is like along spring, we get a few dull days but generally its warm in the sun. At night we do get frost and it can get to 0ºc. We use the wood burning stove at night to keep cosy.
