Light, in the entirety of its delightful structures, is the thing that picture takers look to catch. We will pursue it through valleys and over peaks. We are happy to hang tight for a considerable length of time until the light is perfect. The best light bookends the day as the world's essential wellspring of light both welcomes and says goodbye to a day spend luxuriating in its wonderful light. Last July, I chose to catch a progression of pictures archiving my day pursuing light around Dark Butte in the Gravelly Mountain Range. The pictures in this collection speak to around 24 hours from late morning one day, to noontime the following. As these pictures show, mists, as long as they let enough light in, are a companion to photographic artists. Go along with me as I wonder around our campground and catch snapshots of an average day for Dark Butte.

Throughout the day, mists were streaking overhead. Moving slopes were shrouded in wildflowers speaking to hues that craftsmen have endeavored to reproduce over the ages. With names like Elderly person of the Mountain, Landmark Plant, Sky Pilot, Overlook Me-Not, and Indian Paintbrush, these blossoms are as remarkable as their names propose. As the Sun proceeded with its circular segment over Montana's renowned Enormous Sky, shadows moved gradually like the hands of a clock. At late morning, they are little and the light can be cruel, however as our wellspring of light and warmth moves toward the skyline, that is the point at which the enchantment occurs. Shadows stretch like a fox waking from its snooze. They get longer as overlaid light pours over the scene. The dimness starts to wrap the scene until simply the most elevated spots mirror the light. In the end practically the entirety of the light is gone, however the show isn't finished! Around evening time, a large group of the Sun's extremely far off family members combine in the dimness to frame fabulous shapes in the night sky. Earth bound visionaries have gazed into tho night sky for centuries, playing draw an obvious conclusion for an immense scope. I went through one more hour or so in riveted consideration as I saw the emotional presentation that we call dawn. At that point, it had returned to bed for a brief period to recover the rest that all that light pursuing made me lose! Time to get together and head home, however not after one final investigate my shoulder at my new companion, Dark Butte. We'll be back.
