Night Photography in Tartu City
Photo has been taken in the summer of 2020 in the little Estonian town called Tartu. This town is known for Estonians mainly as a City of University because of the oldest and biggest University in Estonia - Univresity of Tartu. Because of it Tartu is also called as a City of Great Thoughts. 1632 is considered to be the year of foundation of the University of Tartu when it was officially opened as Academia Gustaviana. Unfortunately there are many interruptions and different periods in its history. But now the only university in the Baltics, the University of Tartu is 1.2% among the best in the world! For that reason it is common to see a great deal of students everywhere who come to study in University of Tartu worldwide.
Victory Bridge of Tartu
Victory Bridge is a reinforced concrete bridge built in 1952-1957 in the center of Tartu which helps to cross the Big Mother River to other border of Tartu. The bridge was given it's current name in 1965 to mark the 20th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. The executive commitee of Tartu City Council of People's Deputies made a decision on May 7, 1965, referring to the proposal of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War. A nameplate was also installed on the bridge.
