Mixed Media - Ran Art Blog
Sometimes it is hard to reach realistic results with just markers.
My latest drawings were made using both markers and colored pencils.
The above drawing is from my color mixing guide.
The example below is from my markers drawing guide.
In both cases, I used complementary colors (red and green).
I rarely use complementary colors in such an obvious way. I prefer just a hint.
Here are some examples of mixed media drawings.
I drew this marker with markers (chisel nib), and the cast shadow with graphite pencil.
Note:
The marker nib is important. Each nib is good for something else.
In the example above, I used a chisel nib, for a straight object.
For filling areas, I prefer brush nib.
This is an example of pen and pencil drawing (wheat with a pen, paper with pencils).
These are my recommended pens for drawing.
Fine liners (technical pens) work great with markers.
Pens can help with adding details, while markers for adding colors.
